Bundesliga Odds and Picks - Matchday 28
May 25, 2020
By Toby Maxtone-Smith

The Bundesliga returns with mid-week action beginning on Tuesday May 26 that packs in a nine-game slate over two days.

The top-flight German League is receiving a ton of action at the sportsbooks and we've got Bundesliga Odds and Picks locked and loaded.
Matchday 28 Bundesliga Picks

Match: Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich
Odds: Bayern Munich -120, Borussia Dortmund +255, Draw +310
Bet Now at DraftKings
Date: Tuesday, 12:30 ET
TV: FS1/Fox Deportes

Bayern Munich’s trip to Dortmund is a potential title decider. Bayern go to Dortmund with a four point lead at the top of the Bundesliga and know that a win here would all but sew up yet another title. A Dortmund victory would blow it wide open not just for them, but for Leipzig, Leverkusen and Mönchengladbach too.

The goal line for such a big game is incredibly high, with over 2.5 goals rated as a 4/11 shot. Yes, this is the Bundesliga and these are two bold teams, but goal expectancy drops when the stakes are raised, and there is no incentive for Bayern to push for a win. They would probably take a draw. Dortmund have outperformed their attacking of late, and Jadon Sancho’s fitness is a concern, so this game could be lower scoring than expected.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals at 11/5

Match: Werder Bremen v Borussia Mönchengladbach
Odds: Borussia Monchengladbach -143, Werder Bremen +340, Draw +300

Date: Tuesday, 14:30 ET

Werder Bremen secured a precious three points at Freiburg last time out, but their form at the Weserstadion this season has been appalling. With it becoming gradually more apparent that empty stadiums really are having a profound effect on home advantage, Gladbach look good value at 8/11. The visitors still have a small chance of winning the league, but their realistic aim is a top four spot. They beat Bremen 3-1 in the reverse fixture and should have too much here.
Tip: Borussia Mönchengladbach to win at 8/11

Match: Eintracht Frankfurt v Freiburg
Odds: Eintracht Frankfurt -103, Freiburg +245, Draw +270

Date: Tuesday, 14:30 ET

Frankfurt and Freiburg’s forms has seen them heading in opposite directions and Frankfurt look terrible value even money favourites here. They have lost their last five games and have shipped 18 goals. They did include games against four of the top five, but their confidence looks shot and Freiburg can take advantage. They were unlucky to lose at home to Werder Bremen last time out and have taken points off Schalke, Leverkusen and Leipzig on the road this season. Add to that the dubious nature of home advantage in the current circumstances and Freiburg jump out at 5/2 to win the match.
Tip: Freiburg to win at 5/2

Match: RB Leipzig v Hertha Berlin
Odds: Leipzig -305, Hertha +700, Draw +430

Date: Wednesday, 12:30 ET
TV: FS2

RB Leipzig were superb in their 5-0 thrashing at Mainz last time out. The win came after their 1-1 draw against Freiburg, where they were very unlucky not to win. Timo Werner scored a hat-trick in that win, and even at a short price he looks a good value first goalscorer against mid-table Hertha Berlin. Werner has netted 24 goals in 27 league games and is second only to Robert Lewandowski in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts. That hat-trick came off the back of a relatively bad patch for Werner, but he looked back to his best in Mainz.
Tip: Timo Werner to score first at 5/2

Match: Hoffenheim v FC Koln
Odds: Hoffenheim +143, Koln +165, Draw +265
Bet Now at DraftKings
Date: Wednesday, 14:30 ET
TV: FS-Plus

Hoffenheim have picked up one point from their two games since the Bundesliga returned, but their performances have been much better than their results and their match at home to Cologne is the perfect opportunity for them to get an overdue win. These two teams are in mid-table but both are in the hunt for a Europa League place. Hoffenheim won the xG count at Paderborn 1.9-1 in their draw at Paderborn, and racked up an xG of 2.8 against Hertha Berlin in their statistically unlikely 3-0 loss. Cologne have also been unlucky, but they have lost eight of their 13 away games this year and could be in for another defeat here.
Tip: Hoffenheim to win at 13/10

Another weekend of Bundesliga, Germany's top-flight soccer league, is in the books. While fans are not involved at the stadiums across the country, the Bundesliga is showing the rest of the world how it's done during these pandemic times.

It was another weekend of domination from the visitors, with the homefield advantage no longer a factor with teams playing in front of no fans due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. Home sides ended up just 2-5-2, with Hertha Berlin winning Friday by a 4-0 count against FC Union Berlin, and first-place Bayern Munich rolling to a 5-2 victory and three points in the table against Eintracht Frankfurt at Allianz Arena.

For bettors keeping track, road teams are 10-3 overall with five draws in two weekends since returning while total players saw the ‘over’ go 6-3, with overs 11-6-1 in the past two matchdays.

Matchday 28 begins on Tuesday with four matches, including the titanic battle between the top two clubs in the table. We're attacking the books with our top Bundesliga Picks for the big matchup.
Bundesliga - Matchday 28
Tuesday's Best Bets
Borussia Dortmund vs. FC Bayern Munich
Date: Tuesday, May 26
Time: 12:30 p.m. ET
TV: FS2, DraftKings Stream
Bundesliga Betting Odds
Dortmund (+260)
Munich (-115)
Draw (+310)

Borussia Dortmund plays host to FC Bayern Munich at Signal-Iduna Park Tuesday in front of no fans. The battle features the top two clubs in the Bundesliga table. Dortmund enters 17-4-6 with 74 goals scored and 33 allowed for a plus-41 goal differential, No. 2 in the Bundesliga. Munich has been in a league of their own, posting a 19-4-4 record, 80 goals and 28 allowed, good for 61 points and a plus-52 goal differential, easily the best in the league. If anyone can slow down Munich it might be Dort.

Erling Haaland has posted 10 goals in 10 matches for Borussia. They have posted at least two goals in 28 of the past 30 Bundesliga home matches, so Bayern will have its work cut out for them. Dortmund has also won six straight matches, while winning at both half time and full time in each of the past five home matches. In addition, Dortmund has kept a clean sheet, or posted a shutout, in each of their past four at home, a streak which is sure to be tested early and often by the high-flying Munich side.

Bayern has won by at least two goals in 11 of their past 13 Bundesliga matches, as they have been on absolute fire. In addition, they have found the back of the net at least twice in nine of their past 10 against Dortmund across all competitions.
Bundesliga - Tuesday's Money-Line Pick
Bayern Munich (-115)
There is just no reason to pick against Munich, even if Dortmund has won six in a row while boasting the best home mark in the Bundesliga. Munich is just on a roll, and the fact the mighty yellow are at home will be inconsequential, as fans and any advantage have gone out the window in the first two matchdays back. Add in the fact Bayern goal machine Robert Lewandowski will be looking to rain down on his former team, and Mats Hummel is doubtful to play for Borussia, and all signs point to Munich with the win.

Another bonus play is going with the Double Chance bet, with the Result and Both to Score. Take Bayern Munich (+180) to win, with both clubs finding the back of the net at least once.
Bundesliga - Tuesday's Over-Under Pick
Over 3.5 goals (-102)
It's a coin flip on the over and under, but the way Bayern has been finding the back of the net, you have to keep thumping the over until further notice. They have at least two goals in nine of their past 10 tries aganst Borussia, and they have hit Over 2.5 goals in eight of their past nine home matches.
