Brian Nadeau's Daily Picks

Gulfstream Park - Race #3
Picks Notes
#3 Madame Moon Major player goes off the Barboza claim, and somewhat unfathomable 56% move, just-missed last time for Pletcher, drew perfectly, and has plenty of upside off just three starts; look out.
#8 Cherokee Sound The chalk was just 2nd, beaten just a nose, so clearly she hits hard, but this wide draw isn't ideal, she'll be overbet, and doesn't have the room for improvement like the pick; second-best.
#6 Laska Class riser adds blinkers after a good 2nd from a bad draw last time, and this equipment change is a 3-for-5 move for Matz, and she already fits nicely with these on paper; do not ignore.
Race Summary You're not getting the 8-1 ML on the pick but even 9-2 or so seems fair on a gal who could move way up, not to mention she drew best of her main rivals too, so give her a look in all the slots, and especially in the early Pk5/Pk4 as well, as this is a deep field, and a win in the $11 range would likely play a lot higher in both sequences.

Gulfstream Park - Race #4
Picks Notes
#8 Allegedly Perfect Price player got to the turf in his third start and really improved after dueling early, drew a perfect attack post here, and should only build off that encouraging run; upset special.
#2 Uncle George Expected chalk debuts for Clement, who is a potent 27% with firsters, and he's kin to some nice ones, but the inside is no bargain, and the barn is on a big cold streak; trying to beat.
#6 Carribean Gold Logical sort cut back last time and was a good 3rd, while ahead of the pick too, so he's obviously a big threat, though his lack of early speed is a bit worrisome; still, looms in the mix.
Race Summary The price will be right on the 8, even though that turf debut last time was very sharp, so play him in all the slots, and especially the early Pk5/Pk4 as well, since he may fall through the wagering cracks with some sexier connections lined up, even though he won't have to improve much at all off the run last time to have a big say here.

Gulfstream Park - Race #9
Picks Notes
#7 Cometin Class dropper goes off the Baxter a claim, a stiff 33% angle, but also enters off a June layoff, so something clearly went amiss, but still, this is a top local barn, his form was best when last seen, and this move just looks like a perfect poker play, while daring anyone to claim him; spotted to score.
#10 So Long Chuck Pace player did well to draw outside for his pressing style, as he can gauge things to the inside and proceed accordingly, or simply go on with it early if no one else goes, and the slight class drop after dueling throughout for 8k and tiring late to be 3rd won't hurt either; looms the main danger.
#3 French Quarter ML favorite has some solid recent form and now goes off the claim for David, which is a sterling 35% angle from a 17-horse sample, but it's not like his form is any great shakes, and improving off Joseph isn't easy, plus this one just failed at short odds last time as well; willing to make him prove it.
Race Summary Another ML miss, as you aren't sniffing 4-1 here, and if you do then clearly the 7 is damaged goods, but in the 5-2/3-1 range you can make an aggressive win and place bet, though you can get some built-in value by singling him in the late Pk5/Pk4 as well, since he looks very cleverly placed here, and would be tough to deny if ready to deliver anything remotely close to his best.

Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Charles Town - Race #3
Picks Notes
#7 A Is for Artist Has some tracking pace that might prove useful from the wide draw at this short trip, but the abbreviated distance might work in his favor.
#5 Cyclobomb Has had nine chances, and the form is sort of all over the place, but his best stuff would do here. Tough read at a likely underlaid price.
#3 Grandpa Louie No doubt he can win this, but he has lost four of his last five as the odds-on favorite, so it's going to be an easy pass for me on principle here.
Race Summary A Is for Artist might get a good run while prompting the splits from the outside. He'll have to fire off a September layoff, but the two likely favorites are short on excuses and worth trying to beat.

Charles Town - Race #4
Picks Notes
#3 Dubai Was Lit Reliable type runs her race almost every time, and her very best stuff would be good enough to handle these at a mid-range price.
#4 Star of Night The one to beat off a couple of romping wins earlier this year, but this is a deeper bunch than she faced in either of those two, and she's sure to get bet again.
#1 Malibu Splash Tends to come running late, and the inside draw might allow her to find a cozy spot while sitting in behind the leaders.
Race Summary Dubai Was Lit is attractive at something like 7/2 or 4/1 in here, as her best races stack up favorably with the chalk drawn outside of her.

Charles Town - Race #8
Picks Notes
#1 Parisian Diva She'll have to fire fresh off the October break, but she rolled in her comeback race last year and owns several recent efforts that would leave the rest of these running for second.
#2 Amelia Bedelia Looks like the main danger to the top choice off a good win last out, and she almost always shows up with something very close to her baseline effort.
#6 Lucille of Troy Not really sure what to make of this one, but she easily handled that Penn allowance bunch and might be in line for a piece here with something similar.
Race Summary Parisian Diva should be tough off the bench, as she dunked on a field off a layoff last year and owns reliable running lines that should be able to handle these if she comes back running at all.

Jerry Shottenkirk's Daily Picks

Remington Park - Race #2
Picks Notes
#1 Fds of Seattle Lost a photo at this distance last out and this old-timer (10yo) looks like he's sitting on a win.
#3 Give It To Shaq Was 3rd two back and was shuffled back in his latest; will get a better trip in this one.
#4 Flight to La Jolla Was a decent 3rd in his 1st 870 attempt and has the chance to improve with one under his belt at the distance.
Race Summary Fds of Seattle just missed last out, gets the rail and can press from the start of this one; should have something left.

Remington Park - Race #3
Picks Notes
#7 Eyesa Painted Pistol Was up in time two back and had a tough trip last out; with a clean trip she can return to the winner's circle.
#8 Charm the Chief Held on for a narrow win under these conditions last time out; should be tough right back.
#2 Merrilees Valentine Beat N2L company in her 1st of the year and might be able to handle the step up in conditions.
Race Summary Eyesa Painted Pistol usually runs well when she doesn't have trouble and can battle from the start of this one.

Remington Park - Race #7
Picks Notes
#8 Jess a Hilbily Bone Likely will benefit from having some quality starts this season and was 4th in the Distance Challenge here last out; needs some breaks with his running style but should be moving well late.
#1 Regards Miracle Was up in time vs. allowance company at Sunland and is a stakes winner at the distance.
#6 Illtakeyouforaride Won three of his last six and was rolling late for 3rd in a stakes race at Zia last December; has trained well for his return.
Race Summary Jess a Hilbily Bone has shown interest late in his recent races and it could work in his favor that the other top contenders have not been running lately.
