Super Bowl 52 - New England vs. Philadelphia (NBC, 6:30 p.m. ET)
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota (Sunday, Feb. 4, 2019)

For the fifth consecutive season, the two home teams playing in the conference championship games advanced to the Super Bowl. The Patriots head to their 10th Super Bowl in franchise history after rallying past the Jaguars in the AFC title game, while the Eagles demolished the Vikings in the NFC championship as short home underdogs.

The ‘dogs have been barking this postseason by compiling an amazing 9-1 ATS record, including two covers by the Eagles. Of course the only favorite to cover in this 10-game span was the Patriots, who did so in the AFC divisional round against the Titans.

New England and Philadelphia will meet on Sunday, February 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota as the Patriots seek consecutive championships for only the second time in franchise history.

Line Movements:

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook opened New England as a 5 ½-point favorite with a total of 47 ½. After the Philadelphia game finalized, the SuperBook is holding the Eagles +5 while the total was pushed up to 48.

CG Tecnology and the Wynn Las Vegas have New England listed at -6 as of 10:15 p.m. ET on Sunday.

BookMaker.eu opened the Patriots as six-point favorites and have dropped a full point to -5.

Follow all the line movements for every major Las Vegas and Offshore sportsbook.

Betting Notes:

The Patriots and Eagles last met in 2015 as Philadelphia pulled out a 35-28 victory as nine-point underdogs at Gillette Stadium. Philadelphia trailed 14-7 before scoring 28 consecutive points, including three non-offensive touchdowns (blocked punt return, interception return, punt return). The game easily eclipsed the total of 49 ½ as Brady threw three touchdown passes, but was intercepted twice.

Neither of these teams have played a game at U.S. Bank Stadium, as the facility opened prior to the 2016 season. Only one Super Bowl has been played in Minneapolis as the Redskins topped the Bills in Super Bowl XXVI, 37-24 at the Metrodome in January 1992.

The Eagles won three of four games against AFC foes this season with the lone loss coming to the Chiefs in Week 2. New England also compiled a 3-1 record in interconference play against NFC South opponents, as the Patriots faced three playoff teams (beat Saints and Falcons, lost to the Panthers).

Super Bowl Betting Notes:

The Eagles are the first NFC East team to play in the Super Bowl since the Giants in February 2012 in Super Bowl XLVI. New York knocked off New England, 21-17, as NFC East squads are 2-1 in Super Bowls since realignment in 2002.

New England owns a 5-4 SU and 3-5-1 ATS record in Super Bowls, while going 1-4 ATS in the favorite role. The only cover as chalk came in last season’s 34-28 overtime triumph over the Falcons as three-point favorites.

Brady is playing in his eighth Super Bowl, posting a 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS record as he has won in last two Super Bowl appearances.

Philadelphia is participating in its third ever Super Bowl. The Eagles lost to the Raiders in Super Bowl XV in New Orleans, 27-10. The second Super Bowl appearance came against the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, a 24-21 defeat, but Philadelphia covered as seven-point underdogs.

The NFC and AFC have split the last eight Super Bowls, while the 'over' is 5-2 the last seven Super Bowls.
