NHL – TRENDS OF THE DAY
It is a very light night in the National Hockey League on Wednesday, March 6, but that does not mean there isn’t some great action. It starts with a fantastic battle in the Pacific Division where the first place Calgary Flames will travel to Nevada to take on the third-place Vegas Golden Knights. There is also a great battle in the Metropolitan Division where two of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League square off when the Washington Capitals take on the Philadelphia Flyers. The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Vancouver Canucks in other great action.

This should be a great Pacific Division battle that will give Vegas an opportunity to make up some ground on Calgary. The Calgary Flames are in first in the division with 89 points (41-18-7), while the Vegas Golden Knights are in third with 77 points (36-26-5). Calgary is 21-11-2 on the road this season and they are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, losing their last two. Prediction

Vegas is playing exceptionally well, and Fleury looks like he simply can’t be scored upon. Calgary has some firepower, but they are facing a Golden Knights team that is looking to make up some serious ground. We look for the Vegas Golden Knights to win.
The total started out at 5.5 but has moved to 6.0. Calgary has gone under in four of their last five on the road and Vegas has gone under in five of their last seven overall. We look for those trends to continue, especially in light of how well Fleury is playing of late. If you take away the six goal performance by Rittich in his last start, he had given up just a single goal in each of his prior starts. We look for this to be a low-scoring affair as Vegas wins, 3-1.
