Friday freebie is the Lakers to keep on keeping on as they make a stop in Miami to take on the Heat.

Always a "special" night when King James returns to the city he helped win a couple of championships even if his running mate D.Wade is now retired.

Have to ride the Lakers bandwagon until they kick me off.

Los Angeles has won 12 straight on the road as they are now 4 away from the franchise record. Miami is a perfect 11-0 at home this season and after Boston lost at home last night to Philadelphia it's only the Heat and the Sixers as the NBA's lone undefeated teams on their home court this season.

Miami will be hard-pressed to remain unbeaten at home this Friday, as all systems are working right now for Los Angeles as it sure looks like the hiring of Frank Vogel as head coach and the addition of Anthony Davis has paid huge dividends through the first 25 games as the Lakers enter play at 22-3 tonight.

Miami is just 2-4-1 against the spread when installed as an underdog of anywhere from +3 to +7 points, while L.A. is on a current 5 game win and cover streak as they take to the court for this key inter-conference December showdown.

Hard to use past series meetings as a gauge, as Jimmy Butler was not on Miami last season and of course A.D. was not on L.A., but for what it is worth the Lakers won both meetings. They have also won 5 of the last 6 showdowns with covers in 4 of the 6.

Something has got to give tonight.

My money is on Los Angeles to hand Miami loss #1 at home this year. Lay the points.

1* L.A. LAKERS

After Kawhi's Wednesday night return to Toronto where he got his Championship ring in a 112-92 win that held Under the total. For the Clippers it marked their second straight game Under the total and their 4th Under in their last 5 games played.

I get the feeling that will all change tonight when they play their 5th of 6 in a row away from Staples Center in Minnesota against the defensively-permissive Timberwolves.

Minnesota enters play for this Friday with a seat on the Over-Train, as the T-Wolves have played each of their last 5 games Over the total. In those 5 games, Minny is allowing almost 131 points per game!

Coach Ryan Saunders can preach and practice defense until he is blue in the face, but unless the team actually implements some defense, I think it is best to look for some big-time offense to be posted by the visiting Clippers who do average 115 points per game for the year to date. Minnesota can score as well, as the Wolves are scoring almost 115 points per contest this year. They enter at 15-9 Over the total for their 24 games played on the year.

This is the first meeting of the year between the teams, and the Over has been the play in the last pair of series meetings, and in 6 of the last 7 overall series showdowns.

I don't see much changing tonight.

Clippers-Timberwolves Over the total for Friday.

2* L.A. CLIPPERS-MINNESOTA OVER
