Friday NBA Free play. My selection is on San Antonio plus the points over Miami at 8:05 pm et on Friday.
It's pretty easy to be down on a Spurs squad that has lost seven games in a row and won just once in six tries away from home this season, not to mention the fact that they're coming off a 138-132 loss in Washington - a game in which they were favored to win. I like the way this matchup sets up, however, at least from an ATS perspective. Note that the Spurs actually rank fourth in the league in offensive rating over their last five games while the 76ers sit 18th. Defensively, it's another story entirely with the Spurs ranking 29th over that same stretch. I'm just not sure the 76ers will be able to take full advantage of San Antonio's defensive weaknesses, noting that Philadelphia sits 24th in the league in pace rating over its last five contests. The Spurs on the other hand, find themselves in the top half of the league in that department over that same period, despite going winless. Take San Antonio (8*).
