Friday comp play in the NBA is the Grizzlies plus the generous points at home against the Utah Jazz as former Memphis point guard Mike Conley makes his first return to the city where he played for the first 12 years of his NBA career.
Of course Conley's return will be the dominant story line tonight, but I feel we can make some coin by backing the scrappy underdog Grizzlies in this home spot on Friday.
Utah owns an 8-3 season mark that currently includes wins in each of their last 4, but the Jazz Men have not fared as well against the spread, as Quin Snyder's team is just 1-4 against the spread on the road this season to date.
Memphis is building for the future, and rookie Ja Morant has been impressive as the Grizz head back home feeling pretty darn good about themselves after turning in back-to-back outright road wins at San Antonio and Charlotte.
The Grizzlies have also been a thorn in Utah's side, as they won 3 of the 4 season series meetings outright last year, and enter on a 7-2 against the spread run the last 9 times these teams have jumped ball.
Emotions are high tonight in the return of Conley and this game stays tight all night at the Grind House.
Play Memphis plus the points in a very entertaining Friday night Western Conference battle.

With the total for this Conference USA meeting between Louisiana Tech and Marshall hovering around the 60 point plateau, interested in looking for both teams to do some damage and take this game Over the posted price before it is all said and done.
Let's start on the Bulldogs side of the football. While it is true their schedule has not been the most difficult, they have indeed been able to post some big offense in compiling their 8-1 mark, as they have come up with 42 points or more in 4 straight and in 5 of their last 6 games. The Over is 4-2 for Louisiana Tech's last 6 games played.
Now a look at rested Marshall who enjoyed a bye-week last week. The Thundering Herd is not nearly as prolific as the Bulldogs, but Doc Holliday's team is 3-1 Over the total in their last 4, and are 6-3 Over the total for the season. All 5 of Marshall's home games this season have ended up playing Over the total too.
These schools last met back in December of 2014 when they played in the Conference USA Championship Game at Marshall. That game was a 26-23 final in favor of the Herd. It's been 5 years since their last meeting, so I think you can throw that result out the window. I think this game is destined to be played in the mid-30's as we land Over the total.
