Uh-oh, major ACC battle tonight at Cameron Indoor Arena as the 14-2 Duke Blue Devils will look to defend their home court against the undefeated Virginia Cavaliers who have laid waste to all-comers with 16 wins in as many tries.

Not only have they won all 16 of their games straight up, but the Cavaliers have been able to go 13-3 against the spread this year! You can cover a lot of numbers when you lead the nation in scoring defense, as the Wahoos do with just 51.7 points allowed for the year. Tony Bennett's team has not allowed any of their last 4 opponents to top 60 points against them, and all 4 of their ACC wins thus far have come by an average of over 20 points per game!

UVa absolutely destroyed Top-10 ranked Virginia Tech earlier this week, while the night prior, Duke not only lost a home overtime game to Syracuse, but they lost one of their top players when Tre Jones suffered a shoulder injury. Jones will miss this game which is a big loss for Coach K's team. While on the injury front, Cam Reddish missed that loss to the Orange with an illness. He is expected to play in this one, but this young Duke team is going to struggle against the veteran Cavs who have proved in the past they can handle playing in this venue without being phased.

Virginia bested Duke last year by a bucket at Cameron Indoor, and they have gone a profitable 6-2 against the spread the last 8 series meetings against the Dookies.

This is going to be THE game on today's college basketball card, and I am siding with the Cavaliers to keep their undefeated season in-tact.

Play Virginia over the banged-up Blue Devils on Saturday night in this epic ACC battle.

2* VIRGINIA

Things are not going so "swimingly" in Morgantown this year for West Virginia, as the Mountaineers just got rocked in Fort Worth against TCU, losing by 31-points earlier this week. That loss has them at 0-5 in Big 12 play, and things do not too good for them picking up their first win in conference action with Rock-Chalk Jayhawk coming for a visit.

KU put the KO on West Virginia not once, not twice, but ALL 3 times in last year's trifecta (conference tournament included) of games contested, as Kansas won by 5, 8 and 11 points.

More of the same today, as Kansas stands at 15-2 with 3 conference wins in a row under their belt. The Jayhawks had 4 starters hit double-figures in their latest win over Texas earlier this week. That game was only decided by a basket, so Kansas could use a little bit of an easier time of things this afternoon in their meeting with this backsliding Mountaineers team.

With lead player Sagaba Konate still out for West Virginia with a knee injury it's hard to make a strong case for a West Virginia team that is just 3-5-1 against the spread on their home court this season, and an overall 5-11-1 against the spread for the season.

Past meetings usually are slanted to the host, as the home team is on a nice 11-3 spread run, but this is clearly a down year for the Mountaineers, and the Jayhawks will show no mercy in this one, especially after getting pushed to the brink their last time out at home by the Longhorns.

Lay it with Kansas.

4* KANSAS

Play on: Evansville -1 -110 at sportsbook

Dave’s Saturday Free Play:

1* on Evansville -1

The Key: The Evansville Purple Aces have one of the best home-court advantages in the MVC. They have gone 8-2 SU & 6-2 ATS at home this year, which includes a 19-point win over Loyola-Chicago as 6-point dogs. Illinois State is 0-5 SU in true road games this season, and the Redbirds won’t be getting their first road win here today. Take Evansville.

ODU has played better offense lately as they have added extra scoring in recent games to go with BJ Stith and Ahmad Caver. I think we see 125 to 128 points on Saturday afternoon.

10* FREE NCAAB PICK (Memphis -3)

I'll take my chances here with the Tigers as a small home favorite against just about any team in the conference. Memphis has been overvalued in their last 3 games and failed to cover all 3. However, I think they are now way undervalued. SMU is not nearly as good on the road as they are at home and the Mustangs have failed to cover 3 of their last 4. SMU plays good defense, but they are shooting just 40.5% from the field in conference play. Memphis is averaging 81 ppg and shooting 48% from the field in league play. I just don't see the Mustangs having the offensive fire-power to go on the road and pull off the upset, which is basically what they would have to do for us to not cover. Give me Memphis -3!

NCAA-B | St. John's vs Butler
Play on: Butler -5 -104 at Pinnacle

My 1* Free Play is on Butler.

St. John’s comes in off an 81-66 win over Creighton at home, but I think it’ll take a step back here in this difficult road venue. Butler enters off a convincing 87-69 road win over DePaul and I think it carries that momentum over here in front of the home town crowd.

This sets up as a bit of a revenge game as well, as the Red Storm took the latest meeting back on February 28th, 2018, a 75-68 double OT victory on their home floor.

St. John’s snapped a two-game slide with the win over Creighton and it comes in averaging 83 PPG and conceding 72.2. Shamorie Ponds averages 20.6 points, 4.3 boards and 5.9 assists per night for St. John’s.

Butler averages 74 PPG and it concedes 67.1. Kamar Baldwin leads the team with 17 points, 5.6 boards and 4.1 assists per game.

These teams are evenly matched in most respects, but the minor revenge factor, combined with home court swings the odds in Butler’s favor in my opinion. Additionally note that the Redstorm are still a poor 10-21 ATS in their last 31 following a conference game.

The Bulldogs on the other hand are a solid 4-1 ATS in their last five as a home favorite of 3.5 to six points.

I’m laying the points and banking on a blowout!

Good luck…Larry

NBA | Mavs vs Pacers
Play on: Pacers -6½ -109 at Pinnacle

Jack’s Free Pick Saturday: Indiana Pacers -6.5

The Indiana Pacers come in motivated for a victory tonight off their worst home loss of the season. They fell 96-120 to the 76ers on Thursday and couldn’t do anything right. Look for them to take out their frustration on the Dallas Mavericks tonight.

This is a Pacers team that was playing very well previously, so it was simply an aberration. The Pacers are still 16-5 SU in their last 21 games overall. While the Pacers are 15-6 SU at home this season, the Mavericks can’t buy a road win, going 4-18 SU in road games this year.

And things have gotten a whole lot worse for the Mavericks in recent weeks. They lost backup point guard J.J. Barea to a season-ending injury, and he means more to this team than he’s getting credit for. They also have the Dennis Smith Jr. problem where he’s taking a break from basketball because of the trade rumors. And Wesley Mathews is questionable to play tonight with a wrist injury, while the Pacers are fully healthy.

Indiana is 11-2 ATS off a home loss by 10 points or more over the last three seasons. Dating back further, the Pacers are 25-6 ATS in their last 31 games following a double-digit home loss. Indiana is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings, including 5-2 ATS in the last seven home meetings. Bet the Pacers Saturday.

NBA | Mavs vs Pacers
Play on: Pacers -6½ -108 at Pinnacle

The Pacers are the top defensive team in the NBA giving up 103.4 points a game. They should be pumped for this home game against Dallas after being embarrassed at Bankers Life Fieldhouse by the 76ers, 120-96, this past Thursday. Indiana is 36-17 (68%) ATS following a loss. The Pacers are 9-2 (82%) following a loss of more than 10 points. The Pacers are very solid at home despite the loss to the 76ers winning 15 of 21 games. They have a winning ATS mark at home. Dallas is very bad on the road - 4-18 SU, 11-11 ATS. The Mavericks are 20-24 on the season because of their poor road record. The Pacers have played three below .500 teams during their past five games - Cavaliers, Knicks and Suns. They beat those teams by eight, 15 and 34 points, respectively. The Mavericks are short-handed in the backcourt with J.J. Barea out for the season and Dennis Smith Jr. having missed the last four games due to back tightness and illness. In addition, Dallas could be minus its third-leading scorer with Wesley Matthews questionable because of a wrist injury. The Mavericks have surrendered at least 114 points in 10 of their last 12 road games. If that road pattern continues the Mavericks don't have nearly the firepower to hang on the road with the defensive-minded Pacers.

NHL | Sharks vs Lightning
Play on: Sharks +137 at BetOnline

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #63 Saturday Free Pick San Jose Sharks Money Line (+) @ Tampa Bay Lightning @ 7:05 ET - Of course there are two ways to look at this game but, in my mind, that means there is only one way to play it...the VALUE way! Though the Lightning are off a loss so too are the Sharks! These have been two of the hottest team in the league and now, because this game is at Tampa Bay, we're getting the opportunity to take a red hot Sharks team at a money line return price range of +135. This is a great value as San Jose, prior to their loss at Arizona Wednesday, had won 7 straight games and 9 of their last 10. While the Sharks goal scoring has remained strong - San Jose has scored 3 or more goals in 18 of their last 19 games - the Lightning have now been held to 2 or less goals in 3 straight games! Also, the Bolts will be without center Tyler Johnson for this one and he is their 4th leading scorer both in goals and total points (goals and assists combined). The Lightning would love to avenge their 5-1 loss at San Jose from two weeks ago but, keep in mind the Sharks offensive production has been nearly unstoppable and the Bolts are struggling to find the back of the next for 3 straight games now and SJ did lose at TB 5-1 last season. The Sharks are hell-bent on a much better performance at Tampa Bay this time around. The Lightning have now lost 19 of their last 33 January games. The Sharks are a long-term 33-18 (including 7-3 this season) when off a loss by a margin of 2 or more goals. Grab the value with the big road dog here. Play SAN JOSE

Houston -5

The Cougars are worth a flyer. Houston has been overlooked some this season as they come in with just 1 loss. It's been the defensive end that has been the biggest key for them. They are one of the best in the nation as they give up just 60.5 points per game.

Look for them to really shut down this USF offense and force them into some frustrations on Saturday.

Some trends to note. Cougars are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Cougars are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games.

Grab the Cougars.

Back Houston. Good Luck, Razor Ray.

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Chicago Bulls +3

The Chicago Bulls return home from a very tough road trip in which they lost all five games to playoff teams in the Blazers, Warriors, Jazz, Lakers and Nuggets. But they’re back home now, and they can’t be very tired considering it will be only there 3rd game in 7 days. It’s a much tougher spot for the Miami Heat, who will be playing for a second consecutive day after a 93-98 loss in Detroit last night. Chicago players came out and said they’re tired of being punching bags, so at least for one game here, they should respond. The Bulls are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 against NBA Southeast teams. Chicago is 4-1 ATS in its last five meetings with Miami. Give me the Bulls.
