Denver Nuggets -5
AAA Sports: AAA'S *10* "ART OF WAR"
I'd say it's fair to say this is a pretty important game in the Western Conference. Denver is one game up on Golden State for the top spot while the Clippers aren't too far behind, in fourth position, just 3.5 back of the Nuggets. But Denver has always enjoyed one of the league's strongest home court advantages and I'm a little surprised they're not favored by more here. They're 16-3 SU at the Pepsi Center so far this year and are outscoring teams here by a double digit margin. In their last game, the Nuggets won at Miami, 103-99 as a two-point dogs. That's a good sign for tonight as they're a perfect 5-0 against the spread when coming off an outright win as an underdog. The Clippers come in riding a three-game win streak, but those wins were against Phoenix, Orlando and Charlotte, all sub-.500 teams. LA had better than usual defensive performances in those three wins, but I wouldn't expect such an effort to take place here considering they still allow more than 115 PPG on the road. This is a revenge game for the Nuggets as they lost to the Clippers by 21 at the Staples Center right before Christmas. Revenge will be sweet tonight.
Golden Knights vs. Sharks Prediction The Las Vegas Golden Knights are on a back-to-back with travel at the San Jose Sharks tonight and are the underdogs. Can Las Vegas stay hot and send San Jose to a third consecutive defeat?
Nuggets vs. Celtics Prediction The Denver Nuggets have won their last three games going into tonight's showdown at the Boston Celtics. Can Boston protect its home court as the favorites in this matchup?
Jazz vs. Wizards Prediction The Utah Jazz are only a .500 team on the road this season and face a Washington Wizards team tonight that is 22-13 straight up on their home court. Can Utah prevail and cover the spread as the favorites in D.C.?
Pistons vs. Cavaliers Prediction The Detroit Pistons have been red-hot at home, but dropped their last two on the road last week. Will Detroit find its footing away from home tonight in a back-to-back situation at the Cleveland Cavaliers?
Pacers vs. Trail Blazers Prediction The Pacers and Trail Blazers are each fighting for homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs in their respective conferences and will meet tonight in Portland at 10:30 p.m. ET. Given how well the Blazers have played at the Moda Center, are they a good bet to cover tonight?
Bulls vs. Suns Prediction The Phoenix Suns own a dreadful 17-54 record, but they’ve also won six of their last 10 games. Listed as a small home favorite tonight, will they beat the struggling Bulls and also cash for bettors in the process? Tip-off for tonight’s game is set for 10:00 p.m. ET.
Pelicans vs. Mavericks Prediction A pair of struggling teams will meet Monday night in Dallas where the Mavericks will host the Pelicans at 8:30 p.m. ET. Given how both teams have played poorly over their previous 10 games, is New Orleans a live dog catching 4.5 points on the road?
