Tuesday comp play is the Over in the Boston-New York A.L.D.S. contest from the Bronx.

I gave you this total last night, and you saw the Sox post 16 runs in the easiest Over of your life, and while there might not be 16 runs by one side tonight, there will be another Over with Rick Porcello and CC Sabathia on the hill.

There really has been no problem for these familiar foes in this series when it comes to offense, as the Over is not 7-1 the last 8 series meetings. Yes, that one Under did come on Saturday night, but the Yankees also posted 6 runs in that game.

The bottom line is these teams know each other too well, and they definitely know the pitchers they are facing - starters or relievers - so look for the batters to continue to have quality at-bats, and look for the runs to add up in the Bronx tonight, as Boston and New York make it a 8-1 Over run in their last 9 series meetings.

Game Four is an Over at Yankee Stadium.

1* BOSTON-N.Y. YANKEES OVER

NHL | Canucks vs Hurricanes
Play on: Hurricanes -1½ +160 at 5Dimes

1* Free Pick on Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 (+160)

I like the looks of this Carolina team out of the gate. They lost a heartbreaker at home to the Islanders to open the season, but responded with back-to-back wins at Columbus and at home against the Rangers. They scored 3 times against Columbus before throwing up 8 goals in their win over New York.

With the confidence the Hurricane are playing with offensively and the game being on their home ice, I think the best bet here is to go for the big pay day and back Carolina on the -1.5 puck line. Instead of risking $200 to win $100, we are only risking $100 to win $160.

Note that Vancouver just gave up 7 goals in their last game against Calgary and are a mere 3-13 in their last 16 after allowing 5+ goals. They are also just 10-29 in their last 39 when facing a team that scored 5 or more goals in their previous game. Take Carolina -1.5!

NHL | Avalanche vs Blue Jackets
Play on: Blue Jackets -130 at 5Dimes

My free play is on the Col Blue Jackets at 7:05 ET.

The Colorado Avalanche have opened with wins over Minnesota and Philadelphia, as the team's No. 1 goalie, Semyon Varlamov, has allowed just three goals in stopping 55 of 58 shots on goal (1.50 GAA / .948 SP). However, when the undefeated Avalanche visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Philipp Grubauer, who served as Braden Holtby's backup for most of his six seasons in Washington, will get his first chance to impress his new coaches and teammates. Columbus has split its first two games, winning 3-2 in overtime at Detroit on Thursday, before losing its home opener 3-1 to Carolina on Friday.

Early stars for the Avalanche along with Varlamov, have been Nathan MacKinnon (a Hart Trophy finalist after recording career highs of 39 goals and 58 assists last season), who has scored one goal in each game. Linemate Mikko Rantanen, whose 29 goals and 55 assists were career bests last season, has a goal and two assists. J.T. Compher has a goal in consecutive contests after scoring 13 of his 18 career goals last season. Defenseman Erik Johnson matched a career high with three points versus Philadelphia on Saturday, his first such game since the 2013-14 season.

For Columbus, there is some bad news. Brandon Dubinsky (goal, assist, 68.8 percent on faceoffs) strained an oblique muscle in Sunday's practice and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks. Columbus was also already dealing with the absence of All-Star defenseman Seth Jones for the same length of time, after he sustained a knee injury during the preseason. Artemi Panarin, who scored 88 goals in his first three NHL seasons, has a goal and assist, as he begins the final year of his contract (expect a big season). Sergei Bobrovsky (78-39-11, .926 save percentage the last two years combined), is expected to play Tuesday after stopping 32 of 35 shots in his season debut Friday.

Columbus head coach John Tortorella will have to shuffle his lines without Dubinsky. He told The Columbus Dispatch, "Dubi's done a lot of work this summer, not only physically but mentally, and he's dead-on his game. Now in practice he hurts himself. The guys you pull for are those types of guys. Easy to pull for. You want to see them follow through."

However, despite not being 100 percent, I'm backing the home side up against Grubauer, who makes his first start for his new team. Columbus was a solid 26-12-3 on home ice last season, while Colorado went 15-19-7 on the road last season (this is Colorado's 1st road game this season).

NHL | Flames vs Predators
Play on: Predators -156 at BMaker

#1 GOALTENDERS: CALGARY - MIKE SMITH, NASHVILLE - PEKKA RINN

Nashville despite of starting slowly and getting outshot in their first two games against the Islanders and Rangers are still 2-0 on the season, notching wins in both those road tilts in the Big Apple. Now the motivation of playing at home in their opener should have them ready to perform at an optimal level behind superior talent. Dating back to last season the Flames have lost 6 straight away, and are fade material here against a Stanley Cup contender and last seasons President cup winner.

Flames are 17-35 in their last 52 vs. a team with a winning record.Flames are 3-7 in their last 10 Tuesday games.Flames are 3-9 in their last 12 vs. Western Conference.Flames are 3-10 in their last 13 overall.Flames are 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win.Flames are 1-6 in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest.Flames are 0-6 in their last 6 road games.

Predators are 45-15 in their last 60 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.Predators are 25-9 in their last 34 vs. Pacific.Predators are 25-9 in their last 34 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game.Predators are 61-27 in their last 88 vs. Western Conference.Predators are 48-22 in their last 70 home games.Predators are 39-18 in their last 57 overall.

Play on the Nashville Predators to win on the moneyline
