I tend to think the latter, and they have to know they are in the Big Dance with a win here. That this spread has gotten to 6 (opened at 3.5) and that Illinois will again be without starting guard Jacob Grandison (10.3 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.4 apg) makes me have to act here.

ANALYSIS: This spread absolutely baffles me. Long Beach State was the Big West regular-season champion and is getting four points in this Big West semifinal against UC Santa Barbara? I checked and the Beach didn't appear to suffer any major injuries in Thursday's win. Yes, they did lose by 13 at UCSB in the regular season, but tournament play is a different animal. UCSB is definitely playing well and certainly could win, but I have to take these points.

ANALYSIS: At full strength, I like Arizona to reach the Final Four -- something it could never do under Sean Miller. Alas, the Cats will not be at full strength for this Pac-12 Tournament game. Guard Kerr Kriisa went down with a sprained ankle in Thursday's comeback win over Stanford. He hasn't been ruled out of this game as of this writing, but considering he left in a wheelchair, well, I think it's safe to say he's not playing. Kriisa leads the team in assists (4.9 apg) and three-pointers made (78) while averaging 10.1 ppg. He had a triple-double this season. Colorado is playing as well as anyone in the Pac-12 in winning eight of nine and smacked Arizona around Feb. 26 in Boulder. I'm not predicting a replay of that but certainly a cover is very doable with no Kriisa.

I don't know of a cliche about beating an opponent four times in one season. The Colonels' Ty Gordon leads the Southland in scoring at 21.6 ppg. ANALYSIS: They say it's tough to beat a team three times in one season but it's much less difficult when those previous victories are powered by a matchup advantage that's still very much in play. In the two regular season meetings (both UNC wins) Tar Heels' big man Armando Bacot totaled 26 points and 35 rebounds. On the perimeter VT was Caleb Love's favorite opponent as he went for 21+ points and 5+ assists in both games. This Tar Heels team has played at a high level since the Pitt loss, covering the spread in 5 of its last 6 games, and I think that continues tonight.

ANALYSIS: Colorado has won 2 of the last 3 in this series and knocked off the Wildcats at home by 16 on Feb. 26. That result wasn't some fluke, it's evidence of how these two teams match up. Colorado forward Jabari Walker leads the Pac-12 with 17 double-doubles and he's leads a frontcourt that can bang with Arizona's bigs down low. Arizona showed vulnerability against Stanford and now has injury concerns, so I'll take Colorado to keep the final margin to single digits.

ANALYSIS: This line is probably my favorite to move so I'm grabbing it now. I make this line much closer to 7.5, and thats good value on a favorite at this time of the year. Some quick numbers: Norfolk is ranked 20th in Effective FG% allowed, Morgan State's offense is 316th in Effective FG%. Morgan State allows a lot of free throw attempts, Norfolk State gets to the line frequently. Norfolk is ranked in the top 175 teams in the nation, Morgan is around 300th. This line is too light. Lay it.
