Clemson will have its regular starting five for the first time in more than a month due to injury. Hunter Tyson (10.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg) returned from a month absence in the penultimate game of the regular season and PJ Hall (15.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg) did in the finale after a missing a few weeks. Clemson is on a four-game winning streak as it is. The Wolfpack finished last in the ACC and might fire Coach Kevin Keatts not long after this game if they lose as I expect them to.

ANALYSIS: I'm sorry but are we forgetting that Northridge is terrible? They're coming off a 22 point home loss to Hawaii which was their third loss by at least 19 points in their last 4 games. Tonight they go against a team that only lost their home game to Hawaii by 3 but that also beat Boise State this season! That's correct, Cal. St. Bakersfield beat Boise State 46-39 in November. Are November games all that important? Not really, but it shows the ceiling of this Bakersfield defense which has been half decent this year. At the end of the day this pick is pretty simple, Northridge shouldn't be 4.5 point underdogs but probably closer to 8.5. I'll take one last chance to fade them this year in what should be the end of their season. Lay it.

The Predators won two of their first three meetings with Dallas this season, including a 2-1 shootout triumph at home on Feb. 24. The Stars are due for a letdown as they enter with a four-game losing streak. Dallas is just 12-13-2 on the road while Nashville is 15-10-0 at home. Take the Predators.

This rivalry game should be incredibly fun to watch; I'd imagine a major home-court advantage for the Jackrabbits because the game is in South Dakota (although technically at a neutral site). The Jacks haven't lost this season in league play -- on a 20-game winning streak -- and play about as fast as anyone while leading the nation in three-point shooting. I think that tempo will wear down NDSU in a third game in four days for both.

ANALYSIS: An area I look to exploit in college basketball's postseason is lines not adjusting enough for teams playing at neutral sites. It seems both logical and incredibly stupid at the same time, but players often need time to adjust to different site lines when shooting. During the regular season it adds a little to a home teams advantage. In the postseason, it adds to the under's advantage. Also, Cal Baptist is pretty decent defensively for a WAC team not expected to get any further than this game.

ANALYSIS: I sometimes think it's cruel that we force teams like this to play in conference tournaments and pretend they have a chance to win it and reach the NCAA Tournament. What's not nearly as cruel is this line, as it's a couple of points short by my estimation. These are two bad teams, but UTSA is a much better rebounding team, and does a better job taking care of the basketball. In a matchup like this, that'll make all the difference.

ANALYSIS: There's nothing like early afternoon major conference tournament basketball between bad teams. OK, there's a lot like it, but it's during a weekday afternoon, and that's what makes it special. As for this game, we're dealing with two comparable offenses, but Clemson has been the better overall shooting team between the two. The biggest difference is on the defensive end where Clemson is kind of ok and NC State is hideous. The Wolfpack might get hot and make shots to stay in it, but cannot be counted on to get enough stops to cover.

ANALYSIS: This line is just a bit too big here for a hot Cal Poly team. They're 14-9 ATS this season when given points and covered against UC Davis in the lone meeting this year. It's March and like this game to be a toss up. It's likely a good arbitrage situation so I'll probably add an extra sprinkle on the ML and hope the line flips during the game to lock in profit with a plus money bet on Davis too. Nonetheless, the play is on the points, look for Poly to surprise a few people the way they did at the end of the season.

ANALYSIS: UNC-Wilmington survived a controversial ending on Monday to advance to the CAA tournament final against Delaware. For the second straight game, the Seahawks find themselves as underdogs even though they were the better regular-season team. As often the case in tournament action, you have to ride the hot team. Delaware, which ended the regular season with a three-game losing streak, is playing maybe its best basketball of the campaign. Look for the Blue Hens' depth advantage to play a key role as UNC-Wilmington’s tremendous season comes to an end.

Florida Panthers vs Pittsburgh Penguins Pick 3/8/22
I wrote a game preview on this matchup and it can be found here. To add more to that write-up, this game is going over. We are going to see some high-octane offense from both of these clubs tonight. Though I do feel like the Penguins’ goaltending will make this one a little harder to cash.

Colorado Avalanche vs New Jersey Devils Pick 3/8/22
It seems like whenever the Devils play high-powered offenses, they tend to keep up pushing the game total to go over. Tonight should be no different. I expect the Devils to show up and put some pucks into the net, forcing Colorado to do the same. There’s no way Colorado will be embarrassed tonight.

New York Rangers vs Minnesota Wild Pick 3/8/22
The Minnesota Wild are slumping big time going 2-8 over their last 10. Meanwhile, the Rangers are picking up steam again. New York will be out for blood tonight and they should be able to handle a very fragile Wild team. But at times when the Rangers get too comfortable, they allow teams to get back into games. So expect the Rangers to score early and often, then get comfortable which will allow the Wild to push this over the posted total.

Washington Capitals vs Calgary Flames Pick 3/8/22
The Flames are red hot and if the Capitals want to show any sort of pride they better be ready to play tonight. This game will get chippy and force both teams to take penalties. Power play goals will lead to sending this game over the posted total as well.

ANALYSIS: Normally I'd worry about the Dubs playing the second of a road/home back-to-back, but they rested all their key players on Monday in Denver so it shouldn't be a big deal. The Clips have won five of six, but those five wins were against Houston and Lakers, two bad teams. LA will be without rotation player Robert Covington tonight. He's a good 3-and-D guy. I probably will parlay with Memphis if the Grizzlies face a Pelicans team without Brandon Ingram (questionable).

ANALYSIS: The SportsLine Projection Model has about 5.5 goals being scored in this one, and I'm a touch surprised the total rose from an opening of 5.5 goals. Chicago is the NHL's third-worst offensive team (2.47 GAA), and Anaheim isn't great (2.90) plus will be missing Isac Lundestrom (25 points) and likely Ryan Getzlaf (31 points). The Under is 9-3-1 in Blackhawks' past five as a home favorite. I think at worst we push and the only loss via a 3-3 regulation tie.

ANALYSIS: If this were Igor Shesterkin in net for the Blueshirts, I would have passed but it's Alexander Georgiev, who is is 0-4-0 with a 4.09 GAA in his last five appearances and his last victory coming Jan. 8. Minnesota has lost six of seven, but all but one of those games was away. The Wild are fully healthy and I expect a bit of urgency in this one to get things turned around ahead of a two-game trip.

ANALYSIS: We are getting the Flames at a discount because it's the second of a back-to-back (but both at home) and presumably Dan Vladar and not Jacob Markstrom will be in net -- although I'm not convinced it won't be Markstrom after a fairly routine win Monday. Vladar is not Markstrom but still solid, and I can't turn this price down for how hot the Flames are at home. It's the front end of a B2B for Washington.
