LOS ANGELES @ ANAHEIM | 03/08 | 10:00 PM EST
LOS ANGELES -120
ANALYSIS: The Ducks return home after playing two straight overtime games at high-altitude in Colorado. Anaheim won Saturday's contest despite getting outshot 33-27. The Ducks also were outshot 34-28 in Friday's loss. The Kings defeated St. Louis in OT on Saturday while outshooting the Blues 34-25 at home. Both clubs will be playing their third game in four days. This favors Los Angeles, which really hasn't had to travel. The Ducks defeated the Kings at Staples Center back in February. Los Angeles managed a season-low 21 shots in that meeting. Losing NHL teams have struggled when returning home after playing in Colorado. I like the road team in this spot!

MONTREAL @ VANCOUVER | 03/08 | 10:00 PM EST
MONTREAL -150
ANALYSIS: My model says the Canadiens win in well over 60 percent of the simulations, so you're getting strong value with them. Vancouver is coming off back-to-back home wins over Toronto after having lost five in a row on its own rink. Montreal has dropped four straight on the road, although only one of the defeats was in regulation. But the Canadiens have won four of their five meetings with the Canucks already this season and earned a point in the other matchup (shootout loss). Montreal has outscored Vancouver 28-15 in the five contests. Expect the team to come out on top again on Monday.

N. KENTUCKY @ OAKLAND | 03/08 | 9:30 PM EST
N. KENTUCKY -1.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Norse cover in almost 70 percent of the simulations, so you're getting excellent value at this number. Northern Kentucky squeaked by Detroit Mercy in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament for its ninth win in its last 11 games. Oakland got past Youngstown State in overtime to reach the semifinals. The Norse have held six of their last nine opponents under 74 points, winning all six of those contests. The Golden Grizzlies are 0-11 this season when scoring 73 points or fewer. Look for Northern Kentucky to play tight defense on Monday.

OTTAWA @ EDMONTON | 03/08 | 9:00 PM EST
EDMONTON -240
ANALYSIS: Obviously a big price to pay on the Oilers (probably will only rise), but Ottawa will be playing the second of a road/road back-to-back and that rarely goes well for any team. Edmonton is 4-0 in the season series. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have combined for 17 points against the Sens, so here's guessing that one or both will be on DFS expert Mike McClure's top NHL plays for Monday.

CLEV. ST. -3.5
ANALYSIS: Milwaukee is the Cinderella story of the Horizon League Tournament, but I think it ends here against top-seeded Cleveland State. The Vikings won the first meeting 64-53 and led the second matchup 66-53 with 1:50 left. A frantic rally resulted in an 81-80 OT win for the Panthers. Cleveland State is 5-1 ATS in its last six neutral-site games, while Milwaukee is 0-6 ATS in its last six at neutral sites. Lay the points.

Game: (789) North Dakota State at (790) South Dakota
Date/Time: Mar 8 2021 9:45 PM EST
Betting Line Provider: Bookmaker
Play Rating: 4%
Play: South Dakota +3.0 (-110)

My math model favors South Dakota by 0.80 points in this game and the Coyotes possess significant advantages in every relevant statistical category. South Dakota's success is predicated on a potent offense that is ranked 66th in the nation in points per game (76.0), 56th in field goal percentage (46.52), 12th in three-point field goal percentage (38.70), and 12th in free throw percentage (78.48). In contrast, North Dakota State is ranked 237th in the country in points per game (69.3), 159th in field goal percentage (44.44), and 157th in three-point field goal percentage (34.12).
The Bison have been overvalued by the betting market, failing to cover the point spread in four of their past five games. Finally, South Dakota enters off an impressive 86-69 win that triggers a very good 76-21 ATS momentum situation of mine. Grab the available points with South Dakota and invest with confidence.

N. KENTUCKY -1.5
ANALYSIS: Horizon League semifinal matchup from Indianapolis -- neither school has played since last Tuesday (Northern Kentucky advanced on a buzzer-beater) and somehow it's their first matchup of the season. The Norse have just two losses in their past 11 and those were by a combined 10 points. Oakland has dropped four of its past seven. Pretty much every model out there, including SportsLine's, says that NKU should be favored by at least a few more points than the current 1.5 number. Since the start of the 2017 Horizon League Tournament, NKU is 9-1 in the event with three titles. It also has won four straight in this series overall.

ELON +5
ANALYSIS: Elon didn’t play Hofstra this season but has lost its last four in the series, the last three by 23 points or more. But Monday's CAA Semifinal should be different because Elon, picked to finish second in the CAA, has won and covered its last six. The last was a defeat of first-place James Madison on Sunday. Hofstra (9-12-1 ATS) beat Delaware on Sunday after closing its regular season out losing three of four. Take the points with the hotter team.

MILWAUKEE @ CLEV. ST. | 03/08 | 6:30 PM EST
OVER 141
ANALYSIS: Milwaukee has gone Over the total in its last nine games, including a 94-92 win over second-seeded Wright State (-13) in the Horizon Tournament last week. Cleveland State is coming off a 108-104 overtime win against Fort Wayne last week. Their last meeting was Jan. 23, with Milwaukee winning 81-80 in overtime. I expect another fast-paced game Monday. Take the Over.

N. KENTUCKY @ OAKLAND | 03/08 | 9:30 PM EST
OVER 148
ANALYSIS: Oakland is the second-best Over team in the nation at 22-6. This includes playing Over in its last eight games. Northern Kentucky isn’t far behind at 14-8-1 to the Over. Their last two meetings both went Over by an average of 8.5 points. The key to Oakland's trend is poor defensive play that allows 82 ppg and 47.8 percent shooting. Take the Over on Monday.

APP. ST. @ GEORGIA ST. | 03/08 | 7:00 PM EST
GEORGIA ST. -7
ANALYSIS: At first glance this looks like a big number given that Appalachian State won two of the three regular-season meetings, and just knocked off the best team from the West Division and the No. 2 seed from the East. But the Mountaineers have to be fatigued. This is their fourth game in four days, the last two going to OT. Junior forward James Lewis missed Sunday's win over Coastal Carolina with an apparent ankle injury; he had 22 points and 14 rebounds in one of the Mountaineers' wins over Georgia State. The Panthers are much fresher, they've won eight in a row, and they were the tournament favorites for a reason. Lay it.

APP. ST. @ GEORGIA ST. | 03/08 | 7:00 PM EST
OVER 136
ANALYSIS: Georgia State's games have averaged 153 points this season. The Panthers are 5-1 to the over in their last six games. Appalachian State's away games have averaged 135.5 points. Both teams could be playing on tired legs. Appalachian State is on its fourth game in four days. Georgia State is playing its third game in three days. That will lead to less defense. These teams have played three times this year, with total scores of 151, 135 and 156.

+89 2-1 IN LAST 3 CBB PICKS
2:11 PM

DREXEL @ NORTHEASTERN | 03/08 | 9:30 PM EST
DREXEL -1
ANALYSIS: Drexel has been a covering machine this season. The Dragons are 12-5 on the season, including 9-3 in games away from home. Head coach Zach Spiker is in his fifth year and has improved the team every season. Four of five Drexel starters have been able to start in every game. The Dragons are third in the nation in minutes continuity. Northwestern will be without one starter, and maybe two.

ST. LOUIS @ SAN JOSE | 03/08 | 9:00 PM EST
ST. LOUIS -160
ANALYSIS: The Blues just beat the Sharks last week 7-6 in a thriller. They are much better on the road with a 10-2-1 record while San Jose is last in the division and 2-5-1 at home. Devan Dubnyk is expected to start for the Sharks and he is 1-5-2 with a 3.49 GAA and .890 save percentage this season. Take the Blues on the road.

ARIZONA @ COLORADO | 03/08 | 9:00 PM EST
COLORADO -180
ANALYSIS: These are two of the best goalies in the league this season in Darcy Kuemper and Philip Grubauer, however the Ducks are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league and the Aves are one of the highest. The Aves already won two of two games in Arizona recently, although Kuemper didn’t start in either of those games. Lay the favorite.

LOS ANGELES @ ANAHEIM | 03/08 | 10:00 PM EST
LOS ANGELES -130
ANALYSIS: The Ducks are 3-7-3 at home this season and the Kings are 18-5 against the spread. Cal Peterson should be in net and he has been playing much better than Jonathan Quick recently. Take the value in the Kings.

DREXEL @ NORTHEASTERN | 03/08 | 9:30 PM EST
DREXEL -1
ANALYSIS: Colonial Athletic Association Tournament semifinal game from Harrisonburg, Va. Northeastern is the better team when fully healthy, but the Huskies for sure will be without one starter in Shaquille Walters (10.5 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and perhaps a second in Jason Strong (9.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg). The school returned from a long COVID break Sunday in beating William & Mary without both guys and only eight available players. Drexel took out Charleston on Sunday. It's the first meeting of the season between these two.

ANALYSIS: Rider is 5-16 but has covered three straight, beating Saint Peter's before losing two nailbiters to Monmouth. Canisius comes in off an upset win over Siena but shouldn't be favored by this many. Look for the Golden Griffins to fall to 1-9 ATS in their last 10 neutral-site games.
