My data sees the slight underdog Timberwolves winning outright more than 60 percent of time Friday against the Heat and covering the meager spread in nearly two-thirds of simulations. The underdog is on a 5-1 run on this series and I'm looking for a letdown from Miami following its home loss to Boston on Wednesday.

The Cardinals' offense is hitting just .222 on the year but still averages a respectable five runs per game. They have their home opener today against a Padres team that has yet to play on the road and is starting a pitcher for his second-career start. Nicholas Margevicius was impressive against the Giants, but now the Cardinals know to an extent what to expect. Jack Flaherty struggled in his opener, but Friday's Padres lineup is a lifetime 0-for-16 against him, and St. Louis has the stronger bullpen.

Mariners lefty Yusei Kikuchi has pitched well in two starts but has yet to gain a victory. He'll face a White Sox team that's hitting just .125 against southpasws this season. Seattle hasn't played in a true road game yet, but it went 2-0 in Japan and the offense is averaging a robust seven runs per game. That won't last, but as long as Kukuchi keeps it going, the Mariners won't need seven runs.The White Sox have lost for home openers in a row, all by multiple runs, Reynaldo Lopez wasn't sharp in his first start and he's backed by a bullpen with an 8-plus ERA.

Locking this one in now because Baltimore got off to a 4-3 start on the season that few saw coming, and has returned big value on the money line to backers thus far. The Orioles took two of three in the opening series against the Yankees this year and my simulations have them winning straight-up on Saturday nearly 40 percent of the time, making them a solid bargain on the money line with Dylan Bundy on the hill.
