My comp play release for this final Saturday on the regular season is for Villanova to cover the small road impost at Seton Hall in this matinee from New Jersey.
The Wildcats are having some struggles on the Big East road here to end the regular season. Yes, Jay Wright's team enters this one with wins and covers over Marquette and Butler their last two times out, but those games came at home. On the conference road, the Wildcats have lost each of their last 4 contests!
That will be a point of emphasis for Wright and his staff today as they take on a Seton Hall team that just snapped a crippling 3 game losing streak with a home win over a ranked Marquette team earlier this week. The question is, can Kevin Willard's team spring another home win over a ranked team?
My answer is NO.
Villanova blasted Seton Hall, 80-52 in the first meeting this year on their home court, as the 'Cats extended their series domination to 6 in a row, and 9 of the last 10 overall against the Pirates. 'Nova has also covered in 4 of the past 6 series victories.
The Wildcats sport a money-turning 10-5 against the spread mark on the road this season, and that is despite the 4 straight up losses, while the Pirates are just 4-10 against the spread at home this year.
At 17-12, the Hall could really use this game, but to me they simply are not getting enough points to make it worth my while to back them in the home underdog role.
Villanova knows how to beat this team, and they will beat them again today to close out the regular season.

Saturday comp play winner on Boston College to finish the regular season at an even 15-15 before the ACC tournament starts later this week.
The Eagles have only won once over their last 5 games, but that one win was a home upset of Louisville. Their is talent on this team, especially so in the form of Ky Bowman and his 19.3 points per game, and don't forget Nic Popovic who is a dangerous perimeter shooter who averages over 14 points per game.
As for N;C. State, they have done themselves no favors with the selection committee, as they head into this last road game of the regular season off yet another puzzling loss, this time at home to Georgia Tech in a game they were installed as -11 point favorites!
Remember, this is the same Wolfpack team that also was held to 24 points earlier this year in a home loss to Virginia Tech. Yes, Kevin Keats' team owns 20 wins on the year, and yes they play out of the ACC, but there are some head-scratching results that need to pass by the selection committee, and I do not think they are going to look to favorably upon this team when they take it on the chin today in Chestnut Hill.
The 'Pack did win the first meeting this year between the teams in Raleigh, but that one took overtime before the Wolfpack could shake free, and Boston College has managed a 3-3 straight up split the last 6 series meetings, including wins the last 2 times these teams have played in Boston.
I like BC to put a dagger in the 'Pack's tourney hopes by taking this senior day affair at home on Saturday afternoon.

DMack's Free Play for Saturday, March 9, 2019 is on the Colorado Buffalos
Colorado needed to win 9 of 11 to claw its way back to the .500 mark in conference. The Buffs snapped a four game series losing streak with a 69-65 win over the Trojans of February 9th. USC has struggled all year and is just 4-11 in its L15 opportunities as a conference road dog. 0-5 to this point in the season. Colo has been a solid 25-14 ATS L39 moneymaker on this court .... 5-2 this year. The Trojans are also 0-5 in game decided by five points or less which is an indication that even if USC stays close, Colorado can extend and pretty much get this one home.

Pirates (+) over Wildcats- Villanova need a win here to clinch the top-spot for the regular season in the Big East as their nearest competition Marquette has dropped their last three. The Wildcats who have had a great three year run under Jay Wright are not quite the same this year and are a meager 5-5 SU in true road games. Meanwhile Seton Hall is 10-4 SU at home and are getting points here which is an added bonus today as the Wildcats are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight meetings at Seton Hall.
