Sunday 3/3/19 thread for free handicapping service plays and expert predictions for Sunday’s NCAAB, NHL & NBA games.
Steven Oh (NBA 60-37 Last 97 Plays)
Houston +3
When it comes to the spread, Boston is among the league's top teams at home, Houston is among the worst on the road. But recent play trumps season tends in this instance. The Rockets have won four in a row, the Celtics losers of four of five. Houston is getting points, and while my projections give Boston a slight edge, there's value in the underdog here. Take James Harden and the points.

Charlotte +3
The Blazers have won four of five on their East Coast road trip, covering in all of them. The Hornets, meanwhile, have lost their last three home games. Despite that, the longer season trends prove Charlotte is a great home team, and Portland is simply average on the road. Fade the public and take the host Hornets, who are covering in well over half of my simulations.

5-1 IN LAST 6 CHA ATS PICKS | +389
Washington -1.5
The Wizards have lost five of six, the Timberwolves three of four, but my advanced computer model gives a lot of credence to where this game is played. The Wizards are so much better at home than on the road, and so are the Timberwolves. Washington wins by eight in my many simulations, covering the small spread nearly 70 percent of them. Jump on the Wizards.

Temple -17
The Owls have a two-game lead over Memphis in the loss column with three to go. The Owls are also on the tournament bubble as one of the last four out. Temple is coming off a loss at Memphis and needs to finish strong with three straight wins but let's take one at a time. First will be Tulane, which is 0-15 in conference with a 6-9 ATS record. Tulane is 1-5 ATS in its last six, 3-7 ATS on the road overall. Lay the points.
Georgia Tech UNDER 134.5
Georgia Tech is 50-23-1 to the Under in its last 74 home games, and Josh Pastner is a great defensive teacher. The Yellow Jackets rank 30th in defensive efficiency this year. Boston College has been involved in games that produced 125 or fewer points in four of its last six outings.
Marquette -3
The Golden Eagles are coming off a loss at Villanova and are virtually tied with the Wildcats atop the Big East. The Golden Eagles are still playing for seeding in the NCAA Tournament and would love to supplant 'Nova as the King of the Big East. So first things first, take care of Creighton, a team you beat in Omaha 106-104 in overtime. Marcus Howard had 53 and the teams combined to make 33 three-pointers at better than a 50% clip. Creighton is playing with revenge and hoping to finish in the top six to earn a bye for the conference tournament. Still, I think Marquette is the far better team and will cover at home off a loss.

DePaul +1.5
This season especially, the public is underestimating DePaul. This afternoon we fade 64 percent of the public and back the Blue Demons. Earlier this season, DePaul beat the Red Storm on the road by eight despite being six point 'dogs. I am confident the wrong team is favored Sunday afternoon. Look for DePaul to cover six out of their last seven against St. John’s.

Tulane +17
Let’s face it, Tulane is a tough team to back. Entering game 28 and having only covered 10 of them, the Green Wave are stuck within a conference they don’t belong. Despite the Green Wave having such a rough record against the spread, they do match up well against the Owls, who've covered four out of their last five matchups. Tulane will lose its 18th in a row, but will stay within the number.

East Carolina +10.5
Tulsa has done better in conference play than East Carolina has, going 7-9 while the Pirates are only 3-12. If you look closer though, while the records are a lot different, the overall performance isn't that much different. Both of these teams have been horrible on offense, and while Tulsa's defense has been better than ECU's, I don't think it's been better enough to trust it with this spread.

The Cavs played Detroit on Saturday but I'm not sure they've realized it yet, as they lost 129-93. Still, the fact they played yesterday matters, as the Under has gone 17-7 the last 24 times the Cavs have played without a day of rest. Furthermore, the Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two. The Under is also 4-1 when the Magic are road favorites and 18-13 in road games overall.

Washington -1.5
People, let’s not overreact to Washington’s stunning defeat to dreadful Cal. Stuff happens late in the season on the road. It won’t happen again, based partly on the Huskies’ avoidance of two-game straight-up losing streaks all year. Honing in on this matchup, UW forces turnovers at the ninth highest rate in the country, whereas Stanford commits them in bunches (307th ranking per possession). The Huskies took the first meeting by 16. Stanford G Daejon Davis (11.8 ppg, 4.0 apg) is iffy with a sore foot.
