NBA – TRENDS OF THE DAY

There are just three games in the Association on today’s schedule to close Week 19, but we’ll see some quite interesting matchups. The action starts at 3:30 PM ET when the Orlando Magic visits the Toronto Raptors. Later, the Los Angeles Clippers head to Denver to meet the Nuggets, while the New York Knicks welcome the San Antonio Spurs, so here are all need-to-know betting trends and notes that will help you make the best wagers today.

Featured game: San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks (11-48; 24-32-3 ATS) have dropped 18 straight games at Madison Square Garden, covering the spread only three times in the process. They are 1-8 straight up and 3-6 ATS in nine home meetings with the Western Conference this season including a 115-104 defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves this past Friday when the Knicks were listed as 7-point underdogs. On the other side, the San Antonio Spurs (33-27; 32-28 ATS) are coming off a narrow 120-117 defeat at the Toronto Raptors Friday night to record their fifth loss over the last six outings. The Spurs are 4-8 straight up and 5-7 ATS in their last 12 games on the road, and the over is 10-2 during that span.

San Antonio is 4-4 straight up and 6-2 ATS in its eight road meetings with the Eastern Conference this season, while the Spurs are 5-2 straight up and 3-4 ATS in their last seven road games when listed as favorites. The Spurs opened as 8-point favorites on this one with the total at 221.5 points and the Knicks at +280 money line odds. The Spurs are 5-1 straight up and 3-3 ATS in their last six meetings with the Knicks who are 2-3 straight up and ATS in the previous five head-to-head duels at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are 1-9 SU and 5-4-1 ATS in their last ten contests when listed as dogs by eight or more points, while the Spurs are 8-2 straight up and 4-6 ATS in their previous ten tilts when considered as favorites by eight or more points.

Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors

The Orlando Magic (27-33; 32-27-1 ATS) suffered a painful 110-109 defeat to the Chicago Bulls Friday night to snap its five-game winning streak. Orlando remained at the 10th spot of the Eastern Conference table, but the Magic is still in the mix. Still, Orlando desperately needs an upset on this one, opening as a 9.5-point underdog with the total at 219.5 points. The Magic is 7-2 straight up and ATS in its last nine games overall, and is 4-3 straight up and 6-1 ATS in its previous seven showings on the road. On the other side, the Toronto Raptors (44-16; 25-34-1 ATS) are still chasing the Milwaukee Bucks, holding the No. 2 seed in the East.

The Raptors are on a seven-game winning streak, failing to cover the spread on the previous four occasions. They are 9-1 straight up and 4-6 ATS in the last ten outings on the home court, while the Raptors are 10-0 straight up and 4-6 ATS in their previous ten contests when listed as favorites by nine or more points. Toronto is 5-1 straight up and 2-3-1 ATS in its last six meetings with Orlando, and after a couple of H2H meetings in Florida this season, the series is tied. The Raptors are 9-1 straight up and 5-4-1 ATS in the previous ten H2H meetings in Canada. Also, the Raptors are 8-0 straight up and 5-3 ATS in their last eight home meetings with the Southeast Division, while the Magic is 4-4 straight up and 6-1-1 ATS in its previous eight road encounters with the Atlantic Division.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets

The Los Angeles Clippers (33-27; 33-27 ATS) and the Denver Nuggets (40-18; 31-27 ATS) will wrap up the series at Pepsi Center tonight. The Nuggets lead 2-1, winning the previous H2H matchup in Denver 121-100. The Nuggets opened as 9-point favorites on this one with the total at 232.0 points and the Clippers at +330 money line odds. Denver is 6-3 straight up and 5-4 ATS in its previous nine meetings with the Clippers who are just 3-8 straight up and ATS in the last 11 H2H meetings in Colorado. While the Nuggets are laying at the 2nd spot of the Western Conference, the Clippers are the No. 8 seed just two games ahead of their closest rival Sacramento.

The Clippers are 5-5 straight up and ATS in their last ten games overall, and are 6-3 straight up and ATS in their previous nine showings away from home. Also, the Clippers are only 1-9 straight up and 2-8 ATS in their last ten road meetings with the Northwest Division. On the other side, the Nuggets are 7-3 straight up and 4-6 ATS in their last ten contests overall. The Nuggets are 7-0 straight up and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games at home, and are 19-1 straight up and 15-5 ATS in their previous 20 outings on the home court, while the Nuggets are 9-1 straight up and 8-2 ATS in their last ten home meetings with the Pacific Division.
