Sunday’s games

NBA – TRENDS OF THE DAY

Martin Luther King Day is nearing with plenty of excitements, but today, we’ll see just three games in the Association as Charlotte visits Indiana, Phoenix travels to Minnesota, while the Clippers head to San Antonio. We bring you all need-to-know betting trends and notes for tonight’s games to help you find the best wagers.

Featured game: Charlotte Hornets vs. Indiana Pacers

The Charlotte Hornets (22-23; 23-22 ATS) are coming off a comfortable 135-115 victory to the Phoenix Suns last night to extend their winning streak to three games. The Hornets shot 54.5% from the field, dropping 71 first-half points on the hapless Suns, while eight Charlotte’s players scored in double-digits. The Hornets are 4-3 straight up and ATS in their previous seven games overall, and are 2-7 straight up and ATS in their last nine outings on the road. Also, the Hornets are just 3-17 straight up and 5-13-2 ATS in their last 20 road meetings with the Central Division.

On the other side, the Indiana Pacers (30-15; 23-21-1 ATS) are coming off a 111-99 home win over the Dallas Mavericks last night which was their seventh victory over the last ten games overall, covering the spread four times in the process. The Pacers are 10-2 straight up and 7-5 ATS in their previous 12 showings on the home court, and are 16-4 straight up and 11-9 ATS in their previous 20 meetings with the Southeast Division.

This will be the second head-to-head duel of the season between these two teams, and the Hornets lead the series after a 127-109 home win as 3.5-point favorites. The Pacers opened as 7-point favorites on this one with the total at 219.5 points and the Hornets at +250 money line odds. The Hornets are 6-4 straight up and ATS in their last ten meetings with the Pacers, while the Pacers are 3-1 straight up and ATS in the last four H2H duels at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Charlotte is 3-4 straight up and 4-3 ATS on the second day of its seven back-to-back sets this season, while Indiana is 5-2 straight up and ATS on the second game of its seven back-to-back sets this term.

Phoenix Suns vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Phoenix Suns (11-36; 21-26 ATS) were easily beaten at Charlotte 135-115 last night to extend their losing streak to three games. All these three losses came on the road, and the Suns continue their journey with a clash at the Minnesota Timberwolves (21-24; 23-22 ATS) who have dropped two games in a row at the Philadelphia 76ers 149-107 and to the San Antonio Spurs 116-113 last time out. The Timberwolves opened as strong 10.5-point favorites with the total at 227.5 points and the Suns at +450 money line odds. Minnesota is 6-3 straight up and 3-5-1 ATS in its last nine meetings with Phoenix, while the Timberwolves are 5-1 straight up and 2-2-2 ATS in their previous six meetings with the Suns at home.

This will be the second H2H duel between these two foes, and the Suns have beaten the Timberwolves 107-99 as 7.5-point underdogs on the home court. The Suns are on a four-game losing streak away from home, covering the spread two times in that span, and are 3-7 straight up and 7-3 ATS in their previous ten showings on the road. The Timberwolves are 6-4 straight up and ATS in their last ten games at home, while they are 6-1 straight up and 3-3-1 ATS in the last seven games when listed as double-digit favorites. On the other side, the Suns are 1-7 straight up and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as double-digit underdogs, while Phoenix is 0-7 straight up and 4-3 ATS on the second day of its seven back-to-back sets this season.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Los Angeles Clippers (24-21; 24-21 ATS) are on a five-game losing streak following a 112-94 home defeat to the Golden State Warriors, failing to cover the spread during that span. The Clippers are 2-4 straight up and 4-2 ATS in their last six games on the road, and are 0-9 straight up and 2-7 ATS in their last nine showings when listed as underdogs. On the other side, the Spurs are coming off a couple of consecutive wins on the road over Dallas 105-101 and Minnesota 116-113. They are 7-1 straight up and ATS in the last eight games at home, and are 7-3 straight up and ATS in their last ten games as favorites.

These two teams will meet each other for the third time this season and the Spurs lead the series 2-1. They are 5-3 straight up and ATS in their previous eight meetings with the Clippers, while the Spurs are 5-2 straight up and ATS in the last seven H2H duels on the home court. The Spurs opened as 4.5-point favorites on this one with the Timberwolves at +160 money line odds.
