NBA Pick 'n' Roll: Tuesday's Pick and Analysis
Covers.com

Chicago Bulls at Los Angeles Lakers (-5.5, 210.5)

This used to be a game you circled on the calendar to see MJ vs. Magic, but we’re probably dating ourselves too much talking about games from over 25 years ago.

This would normally be around the time the Bulls would start their longest road trip of the season with the circus taking up space at the United Center, but the big tent is no longer up and the Bulls are in the middle of just a four-game West Coast swing.

Chicago fans can hate the Jimmy Butler trade and still be excited about their new young players. Rookie big man Lauri Markkanen scored a season-high 26 points in a loss at Phoenix while sophomore point guard Kris Dunn is averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds over his last two games. The problem for the Bulls is that they’re still giving way to many minutes to fringe league players.

The Lakers lack star talent but depth is not a problem. LA's sixth and seventh men Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson are better than more than half of the players who make up Chicago’s starting five. Lonzo Ball is struggling with his shot but he's finding other ways to contribute. The rookie point guard snatched his second triple double of the season during an impressive 18-point win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

Pick: Lakers -5.5

Yesterday's picks: 0-2
Season record: 32-37

Total Streaks

*The over is 8-3 in Bulls’ last 11 road games.
*The over is 5-0 in Lakers’ last five home games.

Trends

*The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
*The Bulls are 0-5 ATS in their last five vs. Western Conference.
*The Lakers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Consensus

Nearly 80 percent of players like the Lakers to cover as 5.5-point home favorites against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.
