Nebraska beat couple stiffs by 4-19 points to start season; Cornhuskers start three juniors and a senior- they jumped out to 44-16 lead in last game. St John’s beat even worse stiffs by 16-25 points to start season; Red Storm forced turnovers on 29.7% of possessions. St John’s starts three sophomores. Big East home favorites are 3-4 vs spread; Big 14 road underdogs are 1-0. Last two years, Big East teams are 10-11 vs spread when favored over a Big 14 team.

Missouri won its first two games, beating Iowa St by 15; their talent is way better this year, but star freshman Porter (hip) has played 2:00 so far. Tigers start two juniors, two seniors- they made 12-22 on arc in last game. Utah beat couple of SWAC teams by 21-40 points; they start four seniors. Pac-12 home favorites are 5-9 vs spread; SEC underdogs are 2-0. Last two years, Pac-12 teams are 11-4 vs spread when facing an SEC team.

Xavier shot 77.6% inside arc in winning first two games by 52-26 points over mid-majors; they scored 101 points in both games, but competition is lot tougher here. Musketeers two sophs, two seniors. Wisconsin won its first two games by 35-28 points over stiffs; Badgers start two sophs, three juniors. Big 14 home favorites are 4-5 vs spread; Big East underdogs are 0-2. Last two years, Big East teams are 10-8 vs spread when an underdog to a Big 14 team.

Boise State/UTEP are both long way from home in Conway, SC; Broncos won first two games easily over stiffs- they’re starting three seniors. UTEP crushed a cupcake to start season; they start three seniors but have a freshman PG. Miners made 10-21 on arc in their opener, which was a low-stress game. Mountain West favorites are 6-4 vs spread; C-USA underdogs are 2-4, 1-2 at home. Last two years, C-USA teams are 5-2 vs spread when facing a MW opponent.

Iowa State is off to a rough start, losing to Mizzou/Milwaukee while scoring only 57.5 ppg; Cyclones played only eight guys in first two games- they turned ball over 22.9% of time so far. Appalachian State pounded on two stiffs, now jumps way up in class; ASU starts two sophs, two juniors- they made 31-44 on foul line last game. Big X home favorites are 5-3 vs spread; Sun Belt road underdogs are 4-3. Last two years, Big X teams are 5-5 vs spread when playing a Sun Belt squad.

Auburn is going thru lot of off-court stuff, they’re down couple players. Tigers beat Norfolk St by 28 in their opener. Auburn started two sophs, three juniors. Indiana State made 17-26 on arc in 90-69 win at Indiana; they were up 30 with 7:55 left to go. Sycamores start three seniors. Neither team has played since Friday. SEC home favorites are 4-2 vs spread; MVC road underdogs are 2-1. Last two years, SEC teams are 6-3 vs spread when playing an MVC team.

Temple hasn’t played yet; they’ve got four starters back from 16-16, 7-11 team that had lot of injuries. Owls are picked to finish in middle of AAC pack. Old Dominion beat Towson/JMU to start its season, couple of old CAA rivals; Monarchs start three juniors, two seniors- they allowed only 53.5 ppg in the two wins. AAC home favorites are 3-4 vs spread; C-USA underdogs are 2-4, 1-2 on road. Last two years, AAC teams are 9-4 vs spread when playing a C-USA team.

Clemson scored 86 ppg in pounding couple of stiffs to start season; Tigers start three juniors, two seniors. Clemson took 25 more FT’s than their opponents in first two games. Ohio U beat Alabama A&M 61-53 in its opener, playing 7 guys; Bobcats start three juniors, one senior, are picked to finish 2nd in MAC East. ACC home favorites are 8-5 vs spread; MAC road underdogs are 4-1. Last two years, MAC teams are 6-3 vs spread when playing an ACC opponent.

Virginia Tech scored 111-132 points in winning its first two games, making 44.2% of its 3’s; Hokies started three juniors and a senior last game- they’re expected to be a top 25 team. Saint Louis beat up on two stiffs to start season, but shot just 27.8% on arc, 41.2% inside arc and turned ball over 22.1% of time. Billikens start two frosh and a sophomore. ACC favorites are 9-5 vs spread; A-14 underdogs are 4-2. Last two years, ACC teams are 18-11 vs spread when facing an A-14 opponent.

Providence lost 86-74 at home to Minnesota Monday; Friars start two sophs, two seniors- they 43.8% on arc in first two games. Longtime Syracuse adie Hopkins is familiar with NYC, but his Washington team isn’t. Huskies won their first two games, by 4-10 over Belmont-EWU, couple of pretty good mid-majors (EWU beat Stanford, Belmont beat Vandy). Washington starts three juniors, has no seniors. Big East favorites are 3-4 vs spread; Pac-12 underdogs are 0-0. Last two years, Big East teams are 9-9 vs spread when playing a Pac-12 opponent.

Marshall beat Morehead State 85-77 LY, their first win in last four series games. Marshall is 2-0, but needed OT to beat Tenn-Martin in opener; Thundering Herd is playing #6 tempo in country, is shooting 63.6% inside arc- they start three juniors and a senior. Morehead State lost by 52 at Xavier, 7 at Lipscomb; Eagles have a new coach and no seniors- they start two sophs, two juniors. C-USA favorites are 4-2 vs spread, 2-0 on road; OVC underdogs are 7-9, 1-1 at home. Last two years, OVC teams are 15-10-1 vs spread when playing a C-USA team.

Oklahoma State won its first two games by 31-18 points; Cowboys are missing a guy because of off-court stuff. OSU starts two sophs, two seniors. Oral Roberts has new coach; they lost by 19 at crosstown rival Tulsa. Golden Eagles start two sophs, two seniors- they’ve turned ball over 25.4% of time this year. Summit League road underdogs are 2-7 vs spread; Big X home favorites are 5-3. Last two years, Big X teams are 7-4 vs spread when playing a Summit League squad.

Middle Tennessee beat Belmont last two years, by 13-21 points. Belmont upset Vandy in its last game, lost by 3 at Washington in opener; they led by 8 at half in Seattle. Bruins shot only 27.6% on arc in those games. Belmont starts three juniors, two seniors. Middle Tennessee won by 5 at Murray State last game, despite going 1-12 on arc. Blue Raiders start four seniors and a soph PG. OVC road underdogs are 6-8 vs spread; C-USA home favorites are 2-2. Last two years, OVC teams are 15-10-1 vs spread when playing a C-USA team.
