ANALYSIS: The SportsLine Projection model pegs this one as a toss-up. The Angels are winning in 50 percent of its simulations, so they have good value at plus money. L.A. is covering the spread in 68 percent of the simulations. The stats projections have starters Chris Archer of Minnesota and the Angels’ Tucker Davidson failing to get through five innings. The bullpens entered Saturday night’s game with identical 3.95 ERAs and WHIPs right around 1.25. Minnesota entered the second game of this series with nine losses in its previous 15 games, and two of the wins were in extra innings.

ANALYSIS: I was planning on staying away from the Mariners with Martin Perez pitching the other side, but the Rangers bullpen is in a terrible spot right now. Their top two pitchers each pitched three of the last four nights. Brock Burke also threw 40 pitches last night so I highly doubt he is available today. That leaves Jose Leclerc who threw 36 pitches two days ago and Brett Martin who pitched each of the last two nights. So they really don’t have many options if Perez does have to come out early. Logan Gilbert has really struggled lately which was the main reason I was planning on staying off, so that still concerns me. But if the Mariners can keep it close they should be able to win in the bullpens. The Mariners have everyone available out of their bullpen today.

ANALYSIS: Miles Mikolas is coming off a tough outing but that was in Colorado. He has pitched quality starts in two of the three starts against the Brewers this season. Aaron Ashby is 1-5 with a 4.45 ERA in his last seven starts and he struggled in his only start against the Cardinals earlier this season. The Cardinals are 7-1 at home since the All-Star break and they are the second-best team in the league in wOBA since the ASB against lefties. I like the Cardinals to win this series at home.

ANALYSIS: Both bullpens are in good shape with each of the first two games being blowouts, but this game should be much closer to 50-50. Jordan Lyles is 5-1 with a 3.52 ERA in his last seven starts and he has been pitching really well lately. He faced Tampa three times this season and struggled in his first two, but pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in his last start against them. Drew Rasmussen has been solid but he didn’t make it five innings in either of his starts against the Orioles. The Rays dominate the matchup history at home, but the Orioles have been playing much better the past couple weeks and months. I like the value in the Os.
