TORONTO -220
ANALYSIS: Probably will win on the runline here at Jays -105 as well, but I really don't like giving runs so I'm fine even at this price. Not sure how the Cardinals do much this series with All-Stars Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado not with the club because they are not vaccinated for COVID.

L.A. ANGELS @ KANSAS CITY | 07/26 | 8:10 PM EDT
KANSAS CITY -120
ANALYSIS: Angel Zerpa has pitched very well in his two appearances this season and he will be making just his fourth career appearance. The Angels have the second worst wOBA against lefties in July and they could be without Shohei Ohtani who is listed as day to day. Jose Suarez hasn’t pitched well, and he doesn’t get deep into games. The Royals have won 3 of the 4 games between these teams and they have had a much better bullpen lately ranked 18th in the league in ERA in July.

N.Y. YANKEES @ N.Y. METS | 07/26 | 7:10 PM EDT
N.Y. YANKEES -125
ANALYSIS: Jordan Montgomery has pitched well lately and pitched well this season. He also doesn’t pitch noticeably worse on the road. The Mets struggle with lefties, they are ranked just 22nd in the league in wOBA against lefties in July. They just traded for lefties Daniel Vogelbach and Michael Perez but they should be negated by the lefty Montgomery, if they're even in the lineup. Taijuan Walker has actually been dominant, but the Yankees have the third highest wOBA against righties in July. Both teams have good bullpens, and the Yankees is actually pretty thin now that they’re missing Michael King, but the rest day yesterday should still set them up. I like the Yankees to take Game 1 of the subway series.

CLEVELAND @ BOSTON | 07/26 | 7:10 PM EDT
BOSTON -155
ANALYSIS: The Guardians are in a bit of a tough spot today, Aaron Civale is on the IL and will be unable to start and the Guardians don’t have anyone healthy on their 40-man roster to call up to start. That means the Guardians would most likely have to designate a player for assignment on the 40-man roster leaving that player available to be picked up by another team. So instead of possibly losing one of their players to add another starting pitcher to the 40-man roster, they will go with a bullpen game instead. Bryan Shaw will open the game but the Guardians bullpen has really struggled in July ranked 23rd in the league with a 4.74 ERA. Josh Winckowski will come off the COVID IL to start this game so I don’t think he gets too deep, but that is still an advantage over the Guardians options today. The Red Sox are still missing key players in Rafael Devers and could be without JD Martinez again, but I think they can still score enough at home to win this game.

N.Y. YANKEES -1.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Yankees cover the spread in almost 40 percent of the simulations, so you're getting excellent value with them at this number. The Yankees got back on track after losing three of their first games following the All-Star break, posting a 6-0 victory at Baltimore on Sunday. Look for them to continue their dominant ways against Mets RHP Taijuan Walker, who is 1-3 with a 4.06 ERA in six career starts versus the Bronx Bombers. Yankees sluggers Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are a combined 6-for-17 with three homers and six RBIs against Walker. Take the Yankees -1.5 runs at +150.

PITTSBURGH +158
ANALYSIS: The Cubs have won five straight but this price suggests the Cubs have their World-Series winning lineup penciled in with Greg Maddux on the mound. Keegan Thompson is good but he gave up five runs in his last start and the Cubs have lost his last four starts. Bryse Wilson has pitched well in his three July starts with the Pirates, winning two of them. The wind is blowing out at 8 mph. The price is simply too high by up 25 cents. Take the Pirates to win.

5* MLB DIVISIONAL GAME OF THE MONTH!

Atlanta Braves -118 S Strider (RHP), A Nola (RHP) Must Start

The Braves possess the 2nd best record in the NL East and the 3rd best record in the National League for a reason, and one of the big reasons for that is the fact that they have an uncanny ability to prevent multiple losses stringing together. They haven’t lost 3 straight games all season! They are 10-0 on the year after losing back-to-back games, and when they start a series with a loss like they did yesterday, they are 11-2 in the 2nd game, including a 3-0 record when the series is against a divisional opponent. They are 20-6 on the season after an L where they allowed 5 or more runs, 15-4 when they are a favorite in that game, and they are 8-2 (including 6 straight wins) after a loss where they put up 4 or more runs themselves.

Atlanta is an unbelievable 16-1, including 13 straight wins, after allowing 10 or more hits in a loss. Not to mention, the Braves are 8-2 in their L10 games as a road favorite against the division and 16-5 in the L21 as a favorite overall against a divisional foe. They are 39-18 on the road in the L3Y when the ML is between (-100) & (-150) and 11-1 in their L12 games after a L when taking on an SP w/ an ERA .500, including an 0-3 record as a dog. They are just 1-8 in his starts against teams that are outscoring opponents by 0.5+ runs/game on the year and just 12-22 in his night starts over the last 2 seasons. Philadelphia is just 5-10 in their L15 games as a D vs. the division, and they are hitting under .220 in their L7 games.

CLEVELAND @ BOSTON | 07/26 | 7:10 PM EDT
BOSTON -155
ANALYSIS: Boston can't beat its division foes, but the Red Sox are 37-19 against everyone else, including 4-0 versus Cleveland. The Guardians have scored a total of eight runs during their current three-game skid and they're 3-10 in their last 13 road games. With Aaron Civale sidelined, the Guardians will use Bryan Shaw as their opener. He has a 5.29 ERA and has never started a game.

CHI. WHITE SOX @ COLORADO | 07/26 | 8:40 PM EDT
CHI. WHITE SOX -115
ANALYSIS: This trip to Denver is exactly what the White Sox needed, but beating RHP German Marquez will be tough as Colorado has won seven of his last nine starts, with both losses coming against the Dodgers. Chicago RHP Michael Kopech pitched well in his last two starts, allowing two runs in each as the White Sox won both. The Rockies ended their four-game slide on Monday, but I like Chicago to post its third consecutive win.

TEXAS @ SEATTLE | 07/26 | 10:10 PM EDT
SEATTLE -160
ANALYSIS: It’s not like Dane Dunning has pitched poorly for the Rangers, but the fact remains that they’ve lost 10 straight behind him, and one of those was against the Mariners on June 3. This is a trend worth betting to continue. The Mariners have won George Kirby’s last two starts. Julio Rodriguez is expected back in the lineup tonight for the Mariners. I think the Mariners have wiped away the agony of getting swept by the Astros and are now moving forward. Seattle to win.

N.Y. YANKEES @ N.Y. METS | 07/26 | 7:10 PM EDT
N.Y. METS +1.5
ANALYSIS: Bit pricy at -170, but the Yankees just put Giancarlo Stanton on the injured list so clearly the Mets' chances of covering +1.5 if not winning outright got better as the NYM pitchers can work around Aaron Judge a bit easier. Taijuan Walker is on the mound for the home side, and he has given up one run or fewer in five of his last seven starts and three straight outings at home. Walker has a 1.89 ERA in 19 innings in July and a 1.50 overall home ERA in 36 innings. Yanks lefty Jordan Montgomery is winless in his last six appearances.
