ANALYSIS: Yes, the Lightning won the opener 5-1, but it was 2-1 entering the third. Statistically, the game was pretty even. Montreal should get back key penalty-killer Joel Armia after he missed the opener in the COVID protocols that caused a travel delay for him. The Habs also haven't dropped back-to-back playoff games since losing Games 2-4 in the first round vs. Toronto. Tampa Bay might be without key forward Alex Killorn, who left Game 1 injured. I still say the Lightning are the better team, but the best value here is Montreal at -145 on the puckline. That way, we win three ways: Habs victory; Habs one-goal regulation loss; any overtime result.

ANALYSIS: Still pretty irked that Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final went Over 5.5 goals with the Bolts winning 5-1 -- it was 2-1 through two periods and the sixth goal came with about 90 seconds left. Montreal netminder Carey Price will not be that shaky again. He hadn't allowed more than four goals in a game in these playoffs and last time Price did give up four, he didn't surrender more than two in five straight outings after. The Under is 7-1-2 in Tampa's past 10 after a win -- I actually dislike this total sitting right on five goals due to the very likely push factor, but I don't have the option of doing an alternate total of Under 5.5 goals via our picks yet (recommend you do).

ANALYSIS: I am not taking the Lightning to win this game with about a 70% chance according to the implied probability, and I still think this series will be closer than expected so I am going to stick with the underdog. The Canadiens have been better on the road all season long, and Carey Price will have a much better game than he did in Game 1. The Canadiens were playing down just about all game, and that is not what they are built to do. I expect the Habs to come out much stronger in Game 2 and put together a 60 minute game.

He allowed just 1 earned run while striking out 9 in 6 innings of work on June 23, with similar numbers the start prior to that. The Yankees had lost 4 straight prior to getting a win Tuesday night. Domingo German is not a guy that you want to be backing right now. German has allowed 4,4, and 7 runs is his last 3 starts. Take the Angels.

Dylan Cease will take the mound Wednesday after getting some extra rest due to the postponement of the opener. Cease allowed 1 earned run in 5.2 innings against the Pirates last time out and has a respectable 3.81 ERA on the season. Bailey Ober owns an ERA of 4.64 and has thrown just 21.1 innings on the season. We’re getting Chicago at a respectable price once again. Take the White Sox.

ANALYSIS: This seems like a solid price on Colorado at home, where it's a pretty good team and behind Jon Gray (4-3, 3.97). He returned from an injured list stint last Friday with a dominant effort in Milwaukee. Which was unusual because Gray is way better at home (3.25 ERA) than away (5.24 ERA). Pittsburgh's Chad Kuhl is 1-3 with a 6.04 ERA on the road. The Rox are 10-2 in their past 12 at home vs. right-handers.

The quick turnaround from Tuesday night should help the two starting pitchers (Bucs' Chad Kuhl, Rockies' Jon Gray) considering they weren't in action Tuesday. The winds shouldn't be factor. Nearly 70 percent of my model simulations forecast this matchup landing Under 11.5 runs.

The Blue Jays rank seventh in OPS against southpaws, the Mariners 28th.

ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay is just 4-9 in its past 13 overall, has lost five in a row vs. lefties (Nats start Jon Lester). and is sitting three of its best hitters in Brandon Lowe, Austin Meadows and Joey Wendle. I honestly don't know why the Rays are favored on the road against a surging Nationals team. Pitching-wise, Tampa is using an opener in Dennis Rasmussen, who will then turn the game over to Michael Wacha (1-2, 4.66), who is meh. Washington's 15-5 record since June 9 leads the majors and Kyle Schwarber has become just the third player ever with 16 homers in an 18-game stretch. FYI: He has gone yard twice in 12 at-bats off Wacha. I'll happily take Washington on the runline at -145.
