Trae Young will also have a bounce back game after a rare off night. Take the Hawks.

Two teams headed in opposite directions meet on Friday as The Angels head to Arizona for a 3 game series. Anaheim has been playing good baseball, winners of 5 of 6, including a sweep of the Royals in their last series. The Diamondbacks are on one of the most horrendous runs we’ve seen in some time. The D’Backs have lost 7 straight and 21 of their past 23 games. It’s doubtful things will get better with Merrill Kelly on the mound. Kelly has an ERA over 5 and has given up 5 runs in each of his last 2 starts. Shohei Ohtani enters with an ERA of 2.76, and he’s been great with the bat as well, an added asset not many teams have. This price is cheap considering the Diamondbacks struggles. Take the Angels.

ANALYSIS: The Hawks are on an NBA-best 13-game home winning streak -- have covered 20 of their past 26 there and 21-2 SU at home since Feb. 21 (a league-best .913 win percentage) -- and won both games in Round 1 at State Farm Arena by double digits over the Knicks. Granted, the Sixers are much better than the Knicks, but I don't see Philly getting a combined 35 points from Seth Curry and Shake Milton again as it did in Game 2. At this point, Danny Green and Ben Simmons are almost offensive liabilities (Simmons when he's not near the rim anyways). Then you have the Joel Embiid could leave at anytime injured factor. The Sixers are 0-6 ATS in their past six trips to Atlanta.

The Giants are coming into Game 1 in Washington with a road record of 20-13. The Nats have a losing record at home, but they will be the favorite with Mad Max on the mound.
Scherzer is a big name pitcher, but he hasn't had a great season by his standards. He's lost two of his last three starts, and he's 5-4 with a 2.22 ERA overall.
The Giants hand the ball to Anthony DeSclafani, who is having a career year. The right-hander is 2-1 with a 2.63 ERA in seven starts on the road this season.
The Giants are 7-0 in their last seven road games versus a team with a losing record.

The Italian national team has seen dark times over the last decade, but I think this group has a chance to put some respect back in the name “Azzurri”. They come into this tournament as winners of five straight matches, posting a clean sheet in all five of those games. Their most recent match was a 4-0 win over the Czech Republic on June 5. Ciro Immobile opened the scoring, and Barella, Insigne and Berardi also scored. Turkey also comes in undefeated in their last five matches, although draws against Latvia and Guinea fail to impress. While the Turkish side has plenty of star power up front, a younger and less experienced defense could be their undoing.

ANALYSIS: Since the start of May, Max Scherzer has pitched at least five innings and allowed no more than two runs in any of his starts. Outside a blowup game against the Dodgers, Desclafani hasn’t allowed more than three runs in a start all season. There's always the worry Scherzer will go 8 innings and dominate but the Giants have been able to keep road games close all season as evidenced by the 25-8 run line road record. The Nats relievers got the extra day of rest because of the rainout last night, but the Giants also got a much-needed day off on a long road trip. The run line is probably the smarter play but I think if the Giants can keep it close tonight they will pull out the win. Take the value in the Giants.

ANALYSIS: Garrett Richards has allowed three runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts and he allowed just two runs in 6.2 IP last time he faced the Blue Jays. Ross Stripling has been very good his past three starts, but he allowed six runs and three home runs in 3.2 IP against the Red Sox this season. The Blue Jays bats were held in check by the White Sox and while I do think this game should be high scoring, I don’t think the Blue Jays can keep up with the Red Sox bats right now. Both teams bullpens have been struggling so I will take the home team in this division matchup.

ANALYSIS: Jose Urquidy is coming off a poor start against the Blue Jays but his two poor starts this season have really only been against the Blue Jays. Matt Shoemaker allowed nine runs and recorded just one out against the Royals in his last start, and now he gets to face the red-hot Astros. The Astros bullpen was awful last night and they ended up losing the game 12-8, but the last four runs were all unearned after a bad error by Kyle Tucker in the outfield. I would still take the Astros bullpen over the Twins bullpen even after last night and I think there is a bit of a public overreaction as well. The Twins are just 9-19 against teams with records over .500 this season, take the Astros.

ANALYSIS: The Cubs are playing well right now and they return home where they are 21-10 on the season. The Cardinals have been struggling lately having lost six games in a row before they beat the Indians on Wednesday. The starting pitching matchup is about a wash as neither pitcher goes deep into the game, but the Cubs bullpen has been ridiculous lately. I like the Cubs at home today.
