ANALYSIS: I'm still in disbelief about the double whammy I took on Thursday night, with Portland completely imploding at home in the fourth quarter and the Lakers no-showing once Anthony Davis left early with his groin injury. Wow. The road team is 5-0 SU & ATS in this series, and why wouldn't it continue? It has been a series of coaching strategy changes, and I'm presuming Ty Lue will counter Rick Carlisle's move of starting 7-foot-4 Boban Marjanović in Game 5. The cult hero in Dallas barely played during the regular season but was a difference-maker on Wednesday. Could this be Kawhi Leonard's final game with the Clippers? (see news feed). L.A. forces Game 7.

ANALYSIS: How is this the first meeting of the season between the clubs? Hard to turn down the Yankees getting +1.5 on the runline at home. Yes, they aren't hitting much right now, and Boston's Nathan Eovaldi (6-2, 4.01) is a better starting pitcher than Mike King (0-2, 2.86). However, the fact King probably only goes 2-3 innings helps the Yankees in a way because their bullpen is so good. Plus, Eovaldi has been inconsistent in his past eight starts, allowing two ER fewer in four and four or more in the other half. Boston beat the Yankees in the 2018 ALDS. Since then, the Red Sox are 1-15 at Yankee Stadium.

ANALYSIS: Fading Luis Castillo is a must for me today. He has been nothing short of awful. He carries a 1.78 WHIP, which moves to 1.91 when runners are in scoring position. The rest of his peripherals inspire concern as well, most notably the bottom-sixth percentile .386 wOBA. He does not look like the pitcher he was in years past and essentially doesn't have the stuff he used to. The velocity is there, but the command is subpar. Look for the Cardinals to pounce on Castillo and drive up the score. I'd consider their team total today too. Did I mention the red birds hung 10 runs on him once already this year? Back the Cardinals.

ANALYSIS: Getting Max Scherzer (4-4, 2.34) at +1.5 runs at a good price? Have to take it. He's not the mega-dominant force he was in his prime but still pretty darn good. Scherzer is 5-1 with a 2.63 ERA in his eight starts in Philadelphia since joining the Nationals and Washington is 7-1 in them. Zack Wheeler (4-2, 2.52) is a very good pitcher, too, but the Nats should at worse stay within a run with Philly down the likes of Bryce Harper and Didi Gregorius. The Phils are 1-5 in their past six as favorites and have dropped four straight series openers.

ANALYSIS: The Rockies annually are much better at home (which team isn't?) and terrible on the road but this season it's almost unprecedented the difference. We are 2-0 betting the Rox as RL dogs this week and think they may win this opener outright vs. Oakland. Colorado ace Jon Gray is 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA in seven starts at home this year. Oakland's Frankie Montas (5-5, 4.45) is on a personal three-game skid and 0-2 with a 4.82 ERA in two career starts against Colorado. The A's lose the DH, which is usually Mitch Moreland.

The Jets hadn't played in a week before last game, so I expect both defenses to be strong tonight. Take the under.
