Angels vs. Red Sox
OVER 11½
The MLB Comp Play is on the Over in the LA. Angels at Boston game at 1:10 eastern. Boston has now flown over in 14 of 15 at home with a total of 11 or more. The Angels are 5 of 7 over on the road with a total or 11 or more. The Angels have gone over 9 of 12 vs A.L. East teams and 6 of 8 in game 4 of a series. It could be a long day as they have Sandoval starting at a tough venue. The Redsox are 26 of 36 over vs a losing team, 20 of 27 at home, including 4 of 5 vs a lefty. Boston has gone over 5 straight vs a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.15 or less. Cashner for Boston has gone over in 9 of 11 at home. Look for this game to play overt the total. For the MLB Comp Play. Take Boston and LA Over the total. Rob V- GC Sports

Yankees vs. Blue Jays Yankees
NYY -1½
The New York Yankees are running away with the division and might not be 100% motivated for each and every game down the stretch. I do however expect them to be fired up for this one after suffering back-to-back losses to the host Toronto Blue Jays.
For today's game, the Yankees hand the ball to Masahiro Tanaka (7-6, 4.93 ERA) who is 12-5 with a 2.88 ERA in 19 career starts against the Blue Jays (14-5 team record). As for Toronto starter Trent Thornton (4-7, 5.55 ERA), the rookie right-hander has been roughed up for nine runs on 12 hits and five walks over 8-plus innings of work against the Yankees. Additionally, Thornton 1-4 with a 6.58 ERA in nine starts at Rogers Centre.
Yankees are 9-1 in Tanaka's last 10 starts and 14-3 SU (13-4 against the runline) as a road favorite of -160 or more this season.

Sunday comp play is for the runs to continue to add up at Fenway Park as the L.A. Angels and the Boston Red Sox close out their series with another Over.
Thursday the teams opened with a 3-0 Under, but on Friday they combined for 20 runs, while they posted another 16 combined runs last night.
Those 2 Overs put the series numbers at 6-2-1 Over the total the last 9 times these teams have faced one another.
The Angels are 6-3 Over the total, with 4 of their last 5 played landing Over the posted price.
The Red Sox have played Over the total in 4 of their last 6.
Patrick Sandoval has pitched just 5 big league innings to date, and getting the call at Fenway Park will see him get touched up for a few runs this afternoon.
Andrew Cashner has not panned out for Boston, as the former Baltimore starter is just 1-4 with a 7.53 ERA since coming over to the Sox. 3 of his 4 starts at Fenway since joining Boston have landed Over the total.
Play it high today in the Angels-Red Sox contest.
5* L.A. ANGELS-BOSTON OVER

Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers
1* Free Play on Diamondbacks +195
Before last night’s defeat at the hands of the Dodgers (78-41), the Diamondbacks (59-58) were winners of three straight. Now, these two clubs will face off in the third game of this series in Los Angeles after splitting the first two.
The recently acquired Mike Leake (9-8, 4.24 ERA) will make his second start since becoming a D-Back at the trade deadline. Leake has been good in five career games at Dodger Stadium, going 2-2 with a 2.37 ERA. In his last outing, the right-hander allowed just two earned runs (three total) in 5 1/3 innings.
For Los Angeles, Hyun-Jin Ryu (11-2, 1.53 ERA) gets the start. Although the Dodgers left-hander has been very good all season, he’s coming off the injured list after experiencing some pain in his neck.
If Ryu is unable to shake any rust off quickly, Arizona will be ready to pounce. With 603 runs scored on the season, the Diamondbacks have the eighth-best offense in the majors.
Leading Arizona with a .319 batting average, Ketel Marte has been great lately. In the month of August, Marte is batting .375 with two triples and a homer.

Angels vs. Red Sox
1* Free MLB Pick on Los Angeles Angels +134
Red Sox getting way too much respect at home with the struggling Andrew Cashner on the mound. Boston has not got the return they were hoping for when they made a trade with Baltimore for Cashner. He's made 5 starts with the Red Sox and has gone 1-4 with a awful 7.53 ERA. In just his last two starts he's allowed 13 runs on 14 hits and 7 walks in 11 innings of work against the Rays and Royals.
Not only is Cashner struggling, but Boston as a team is just 3-10 in their last 13 games. There was hope the offense would come to life after scoring 16 runs in Friday's blowout win, but they managed just 4 runs on Saturday. That's now 8 times in their last 10 games they have scored 4 or less.
It's a big reason why I think LA's Patrick Sandoval can have some success here in his first big league start. Note that Sandoval did throw 5 innings of relief last week at Cincinnati, giving up just 2 runs on 3 hits with 8 strikeouts in 5 innings.
Red Sox just 7-14 in their last 21 after allowing 5 or more runs in their previous game (LA scored 12 on Saturday) and 1-7 on the season after a game where the bullpen allowed 6 or more runs. Take Los Angeles!

Nationals vs. Mets
10* FREE MLB PICK (Mets -1.5, +110)
I'll take my chances here with New York securing a win by 2 or more and finishing off a 3-game sweep of division rival Washington. We cashed in on the Mets with our free pick Saturday in dramatic fashion, as they scored 2 in the bottom of the 8th to escape with a 4-3 win. That's was on the heels of Friday's come from behind win, where they scored 4 in the bottom of the 9th to win 7-6. I just think these two losses are going to be tough for the Nationals to bounce back from, especially against Mets starter Jacob deGrom, who is in Cy Young form right now. deGrom has a 1.29 ERA in his last 3 starts. He's allowed just 3 runs on 14 hits with 28 strikeouts in this stretch. He's faced Washington twice this season and only allowed 1 run in 12 innings. Keep in mind with a win and either a Brewers or Cardinals loss, New York would leave the weekend holding onto one of the two Wild Card spots in the NL. Give me the Mets -1.5 (+110)!

My free play for Sunday is on the St. Louis Cardinals on the run line against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Since every MLB wager on a run line or total auto-lists pitchers, I want you to be sure the two pitchers on your ticket, when making this play, are Miles Mikolas and Steven Brault. If they are not the pitchers of record when making your play, disregard this play.
Mikolas is making the start on normal rest, even as the Cardinals skip the fifth rotation spot, and should be able to dominate one of the more inconsistent offenses in the bigs. Mikolas just gave up two runs in 6 1/3 innings against one of the most powerful lineups in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Mikolas has been outstanding during the second half, with a 2.18 ERA in five starts since the All-Star break.
Brault, meanwhile, is a good pitchers and has been consistent for his team. But the problem I have is the offense he's pitching for, and the offense he's pitching to tonight.
Pittsburgh is hot and cold and you don't know what to expect. It ranks sixth overall with a .264 batting average, it ranks ninth in baseball with a road batting average of .256, yet over its last 10 games it is hitting a mere .235 during a 2-8 slide.
St. Louis is in the hunt for the National League Central, and I'm more intrigued to play the Cardinals' inspired lineup tonight.
Take the Redbirds on the run line.
5* CARDINALS RUN LINE (Mikolas over Brault)

The free play for today is on the Boston Red Sox, and I want you listing Andrew Cashner against Patrick Sandoval. The Angels are in from Anaheim, and I don't think they're in a good spot in handing the ball to Cashner.
Sure, the Angels' right-hander looked solid in his Major League debut against the Cincinnati Reds, allowing just two runs over five innings, while striking out eight, but these are the Red Sox. Big difference.
Boston is looking to pull into .500 territory at Fenway Park, as it is 30-31 at home this season. It also ranks second in the league in hitting with a .274 batting average, led by Rafael Devers, who boasts a team-high average of .320.
Devers also leads the Red Sox with 88 RBIs, while J.D. Martinez has 16 hits and is batting .471 over the last 10 games for Boston.
Young Sandoval could see an early exit here.
I'd rather back Cashner, who desperately needs a decent outing. The veteran right-hander has struggled since coming to the Red Sox, having allowed four runs or more in all but one of his five starts for Boston. I will say he's given up too many home runs, having allowed seven over 28 2/3 innings, but I also feel this is a great spot to get right.
Take the Red Sox and list both.
5* RED SOX (Cashner over Sandoval)

My complimentary winner for today is on the Milwaukee Brewers over the Texas Rangers, and I want you to list Jordan Lyles against Mike Minor.
How many times in a season do you see a pitcher traded before the Deadline, going from a pretender to a contender, and making an about face with his own personal season?
That's what's taken place with Lyles, who has gone from a struggling starter as a Pirate, to a contributor with the Brewers. He finished his time in Pittsburgh pitching to a 9.57 ERA over his previsou nine outings. With the Brewers, he has allowed only two earned runs in 10 innings.
I'll take him at home today in an important series finale.
Hit teammates should have his back against Minor, who looked good in striking out seven over seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory at Cleveland on Monday, but now faces a Brewers team that has won 6 of 10 and is 35-24 at home.
I know Minor has a 2.90 ERA in five career starts versus the Brewers, but has not faced Milwaukee since 2014. Couple that with the Rangers being 23-36 on the road, and this could be over sooner than they'd like.
All Brewers.
4* BREWERS (Lyles over Minor)
