Sunday comp play is the Yankees and the Rays to end their weekend set with a lower-scoring game that holds Under the total.

The teams played to a 4-3 final yesterday in a game that held Under the total, and with James Paxton and Charlie Morton on the hill, I have a feeling that things are going to hold Under the total again today.

Paxton has allowed 2 runs or less in 3 of his last 4 starts, and is fresh off 6 innings of 1 run ball in his last start - on the road - against the Mets. Over his last pair of road starts, the southpaw has worked 12 innings with just 3 runs allowed.

As for Morton, he has allowed 2 runs or less in 6 of his last 8 starts, and is coming off of a 12 strikeout performance against Baltimore in a game he allowed just 1 run to score in his 7 innings of work.

Pitchers to set the tone today at Tropicana Field.

Yankees-Rays Under the total.

2* N.Y. YANKEES-TAMPA BAY UNDER

Sunday comp play on Houston on the Run Line to follow up on yesterday's 4-0 win with a final that is similar.

The bottom line is the Astros simply dominate the Angels, as yesterday's 4-0 win over the Halos marked the 8th time over the last 9 games that the Astros have notched the "W" over the Angels. It should also be pointed out that all 8 of those wins have come by 2 runs or better.

Houston happens to be on a 6-1 run their last 7 games, and they will go with the youngster Jose Urquidy who will make just his second start of the season today. He did not factor in the decision in his first start, but the team was able to win that game over Colorado.

Jose Suarez who has yet to record a quality start in his 5 previous trips to the bump will get the call for the Angels, and Suarez stands at 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA and will be facing Houston for the first time in his career.

The 'Stros have been mighty tough on the Halos, and I think they prove tough on them again today.

Go with Houston on the Run Line.

3* HOUSTON -1 1/2 RUNS

Cubs vs. White Sox
1* Free MLB Pick on Chicago White Sox +168

I like the value here with the White Sox as a massive home dog against the Cubs. White Sox would love nothing more than to go into the All-Star break with a win over their cross-town rivals. Wouldn't shock me at all if they were able to put up a big number here against Kyle Hendricks and the Cubs staff.

Hendricks is only making his second start since returning from the IL. His first outing was cut short by mother nature. He didn't have his best stuff, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. Hendricks has been vulnerable to bad starts on the road. He's just 3-5 with a 5.53 ERA and 1.488 WHIP in 8 road starts this season. Hendricks is also 2-8 in his last 10 road starts vs teams who average 3+ walks/game.

White Sox starter Ivan Nova doesn't have the best numbers, but has pitched effectively of late and owns a 3.75 ERA in his career against the Cubs. He held the Cubs to just 1 run on 4 hits in 5 innings earlier this season at Wrigley Field.

There's also a strong interleague system in play here favoring the White Sox. American League teams playing at home, who are an average offensive team (4.4 to 4.9 runs/game) with a starter that is giving 7 or more hits/game and facing a NL starter with an ERA of 3.70 or less are 35-13 (73%) on the money line since 1997. Take the White Sox!

WNBA | Wings vs Sky
Play on: Sky -5 -110 at Bovada

The Sky are 4-2 at home and have an edge here vs a Dallas team with a (4-8 record on the season ), but 0-5, on the road. The Sky have beaten Seattle twice, Phoenix, and Connecticut at home and more than capable of covering here at home vs Wings team averaging just 66.8 ppg in offensive output as visitors.

WNBA Road underdogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points (DALLAS) - poor team - outscored by their opponents by 3+ points/game, after a game where both teams scored 60 points or less are 31-81 L/22 seasons for a go against 68% conversion rate for bettors.

WNBA Home favorites (CHICAGO) - after 2 or more consecutive losses, with a winning percentage of between 40-49% on the season are 113-59 ATS L/22 seasons for a 66% conversion rate for bettors.

Play on the Chicago Sky to cover

MLB | Yankees vs Rays
Play on: Yankees +103 at BetOnline

10* MLB FREE PICK (Yankees +103)

I'll take my chances here with the Yankees getting a win on the road over Tampa Bay on Sunday. New York will have James Paxton on the mound and he's much better than his 4.09 ERA that he enters today start with. Paxton when right is one of the best starters in the game. He's off a strong start at the Mets, where he allowed just 1 run on 6 innings and is 3-0 with a 3.32 ERA in 3 starts vs the Rays. All 3 outings he pitched at least 6 innings and gave up 3 or fewer runs. Charlie Morton will go for the Rays and he's been outstanding. However, he's not had much luck against the Bronx Bombers. Morton has a 5.08 ERA in 7 starts vs the Yankees. That includes a start this season, where he was roughed up for 5 runs in 4 innings of a 13-5 loss. Give me the Yankees +103!

Take the New York Yankees with the money-line versus the Tampa Bay Rays listing both starting pitchers James Paxton and Charlie Morton. New York (57-30) saw their three-game winning streak snapped yesterday with their 4-3 loss to the Rays. The Yankees have still won 6 of their last 7 games at Tampa Bay. New York has also won 7 of their last 9 games on the road. Tampa Bay (51-39) has lost 7 of their last 10 games after a win. The Rays have also lost 10 of their last 12 games against starting pitchers with a winning percentage over 60%. Take the New York Yankees with the money-line listing both starting pitchers. Best of luck — Frank.

Play the over in today's clash between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers, as these two will close out the first half of the season with a plethora of runs.

Since every MLB wager on a run line or total auto-lists pitchers, I want you to be sure the two pitchers on your ticket, when making this play, are David Price and Gregory Soto. If they are not the pitchers of record when making your play, disregard this play.

I know that Price has been the model of consistency for the Red Sox staff - for the most part this season - but that doesn't mean he isn't vulnerable. And as long as the Tigers can plate three runs against him, we should be okay. I don't see that being an issue, as the Red Sox will dictate a high-scoring game and turn this into an offensive slugfest.

That's because Soto is 0-2 with an 8.06 ERA. And while he's only serving as an opener, that doesn't mean Boston can't open up the game with a powerful first inning, or two.

While the Rays and Yankees are beating each other up, the Red Sox are looking to stay relevant in the American League East. They'll try to close out the first half of the campaign with an offensive surge that will provide momentum going into the break.

Who knows, maybe the Tigers will be inspired to score even more.

Play this one high.

1* OVER Red Sox-Tigers (Price/Soto)

CHRIS JORDAN

My complimentary winner for Sunday is on the Cleveland Indians over the Cincinnati Reds, as the two finish up their two-game set at Great American Ballpark. And in this one, be sure to list the scheduled starting pitchers: Trevor Bauer and Tyler Mahle.

It's cut and dry with this one, as it's strictly about the pitchers.

Bauer just picked up a win on Tuesday in Kansas City, despite allowing 11 hits, which matched a career high. The best thing about this guy is his ability to challenge hitters on the inside part of the plate, handcuffing hitters with his fastball.

Bauer is 7-6 on the year with a respectable 3.74 ERA. It's not alarmingly great, but it's much more respectable than Mahle's season numbers.

Cincinnati's righty is 2-8 with a 4.36 ERA this season. Morale with this kid could be low, as he gave up a leadoff home run that sparked a five-run rally in the Reds' 8-6 loss to Milwaukee last Monday. The coaching staff has the faith in him to give him longer innings, but tough lineups are victimizing him.

His ERA over June and July is 4.61, while he's 0-3 in five starts. That won't bode well against the Indians' lineup, since they're 7-3 in their last 10 with a surge in offense that is hitting .277 in that span. The Indians won yesterday, 7-2, as Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with two home runs and two RBIs. He is now is 14-for-44 with four doubles, two home runs and five RBIs over the last 10 games for the Tribe.

The Indians will be too much offensively, while the Bauer will outclass Mahle.

5* INDIANS (Bauer over Mahle)

Sport/League: MLB
Date/Time: July 7, 2019 1PM EDT
Play: Total Under 9.0 (-110)

1:10 PM ET -- MLB

975 Cleveland Indians
976 Cincinnati Reds

PLAY: UNDER 9 (-110)

BET SIZE: 1% of bankroll

List Bauer & Mahle

DB's THOUGHTS:

Trevor Bauer has pitched much better on the road this season. That should continue today against the Reds, who own a poor 87 wRC+ against righties to go along with a lousy .30 BB/K against righties (poor plate discipline). So, it's no surprise the Reds are averaging just 3.6 runs in home day games against righties.

Tyler Mahle has pitched well this season. His 4.18 K/BB ranks 32nd among the 124 starters who have thrown at least 50 innings this season. His 1.20 WHIP ranks 44th in that same group (Bauer's 1.18 WHIP is #41). He faces an Indians lineup that is averaging just 3.9 runs in road day games against righties.

We have two good, normally reliable bullpens to close it out.

We also have David Rackley calling balls and strikes. Rackley ws behind the plate for a Mahle home start this season, and it was a 4-0 Reds win against the Dodgers and Walker Buehler. Mahle pitched 6 shutout innings against a very good Dodgers lineup with Rackley behind the plate. Since 2015, the Under is 7-1-1 (3-0-1 on the road) in Indians games with Rackley behind the plate.

PLAY UNDER.
