Justin Verlander is as good as it gets right now. He struck out 15 and walked none in his last outing against the Brewers. My projections are all over Houston, which wins in 70 percent of the simulations. The proper money line based on that stat is -233, so we're finding great value with the Astros.

The Blue Jays have struggled to score all season and it's not gotten much better lately. Marcus Stroman has a career ERA of 5.00 against L.A. and my projections show LHP Tyler Skaggs doing enough for his second-consecutive win. The Angels win nearly two-thirds of my computer simulations.

Being a little extra conservative with this for safety purposes...DeGrom is the stopper the Mets need today after flirting with a close game then letting the Braves slaughter them late...as those Tomahawk swingers do on a pretty regular basis to opponents!
DeGrom at this value against a ready to break Teheran is great value for a first 5 with no pen, no Familia, and the Mets off a bad loss!

Monday, the Boston Red Sox took Game 1 against the Twins 2-0. The victory came from sound pitching in which five hits were produced from the Twins. Tuesday a win will be much more difficult as David Price tries to bounce back from his worst start all season. Factor in that the Twins have not lost three straight games all season and intrigue lies with the Red Sox.

On consecutive nights the Astros' bullpen has been extended. Tuesday ace Justin Verlander will hope to bounce back from a season-high three home runs allowed in his last start against the Brewers. On the opposing mound Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani has failed to pitch beyond through six innings in six consecutive starts. Leaning on the bullpens this time of year is a scary scenario but value the under (-103) here.

In his only game against the Blue Jays this season, he went 6 innings only giving up two runs. Marcus Stroman is 4-8 with a 3.18 ERA this season and has a 5.02 ERA in five career starts against the Angels. He gave up four earned runs in 4.1 IP in his only start against the Angels this season and he has given up 10 runs in his last 18.2 IP overall. The Blue Jays have the sixth worst OPS in the league against lefties and the Angels are hot especially with Justin Upton back.

Justin Verlander has thrown a quality start in 13 of his 15 starts this season. The Astros are 21-10 as the road favorite and 11-4 when Verlander starts, lay the favorite.
