I picked Boston to win this series, and here is what I said prior to Game 1: "The first thing I look at in any best of seven series is the goaltending. If I am going to consider the underdog, they damn well have the better goaltender. Now Fredrik Anderson was brilliant for the Leafs for the better part of this season, but he comes into the playoffs off an ugly final month of the season. He lost seven of his last 10 starts, allowing a whopping 35 goals in those games. The Leafs couldn't win a game to save their life down the stretch, while Boston was one of the league's hottest teams in the second half. Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and Zedno Chara in the playoffs... LOOK OUT! This first round draw looks like a nightmare for the Leafs." The Leafs looked pretty good heading back to Toronto with a 3-2 series lead, but they got their asses handed to them in Game 6. Now they go back to Beantown for a Game 7. Remember they gave up three goals in the third period losing 7-4 in Game 7 in Boston last year, and in 2013 they blew a three goal lead in Game 7 at the Garden, allowing Boston to score twice in the final 1:30 to force overtime and lost by a score of 4-3.

The set-up: Game 7. Last year the Knights knocked the Sharks out of the playoffs and I think the up-start underdog from Vegas has what it takes to do it again this year as well. After back-to-back losses, I believe the Knights finally respond in Game 7. With a line like this, clearly the oddsmakers think these teams are very evenly matched. And they are. It wouldn’t be difficult to write a convincing argument for either of these sides to come out on top, but I think the Knights have the advantage in net with Marc Andre Fleury in this Game 7 situation.
The pick: Also note that Vegas is 12-5 (+5.3 units) this season in trying to revenge a home loss vs. an opponent and 9-5 (+3.1 units) after scoring one goal or less in its previous contest, while San Jose is a miserable 0-5 (-5.5 units) the last two years when tied in a playoff series. Consider the Knights in Game 7.

The Arizona Diamondbacks put a 12-4 beating on the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night. I like the price we get on the D'Backs to make it two in a row here with right-hander Luke Weaver on the hill.
Weaver (1-1, 3.92 ERA) held Atlanta scoreless through five innings last time out. The 25 year old right-hander allowed just four hits and a walk while fanning nine. "Luke threw the ball extremely well," Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said. "We want each starter to build on one start to the next and continue to know that they set the tone for us."
The Pirates turn to righty Trevor Williams (1-0, 2.59 ERA) who surrendered two runs and six hits in six innings against Detroit last time out. Williams was tagged with six runs on 11 hits in nine innings of a pair of losses to Arizona in 2018. Bad timing for him to face the D'Backs again now as their bats seem to have come alive.
Diamondbacks are 6-0 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning record. Pirates are 1-6 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

My 1* Free Play is on the Boston Bruins (7:00 EST).
It’s all come down to this. Toronto has played a lot better than I thought it would considering its form down the stretch of the regular season.
The Leaf’s sport plenty of talent, but consistency from game to game has plagued the team at points during the season. Auston Matthews has been a standout in this series with a goal in four straight games, while goaltender Frederik Anderson is 18-12 with a 2.73 GAA on the road this year.
Boston looked good in its 4-2 Game 6 win and I believe it’ll now carry that momentum over here in front of the home town crowd. The Bruins are just 1-2 at home so far in this series, but I expect that to move to .500 after this one. Brad Marchand has led the charge offensively with four goals and 40 on the year, while goaltender Tuukka Rask is 15-8 with a 2.32 GAA at home this season.
I think this is a reasonable price all things considered. I believe Boston is worth a second look in Game 7 on Tuesday night.

Clearly the Nets are going to be risking life and limb here as they look to stave off elimination. Brooklyn took Game 1 by a score of 111-102, but since then it’s been all Philadelphia, winning 145-123, 131-115 and 112-108. Game 4 went “under” the number and I’m expecting a similarly hard-fought and ultimately lower-scoring battle in Game 5 as well. The Nets can’t get into a shootout and expect to hang with the suddenly surging 76ers, instead they’ll have to try and control the tempo if they have any shot at mounting a comeback in my opinion. The numbers/trends support us as well, as note that Brooklyn has already seen the total go under in ten of 17 when playing with two days rest, while Philadelphia has seen the total go under in 15 of its last 22 when the total in the game is greater than or equal to 230. Consider the “under” in Game 5.
