MLB | Indians vs Reds
Play on: Indians -1½ -110 at 5Dimes

The Cleveland Indians just keep finding ways to win. They've now won four straight games and nine of 11. The Indians have owned the Reds in the first two games of the series, outscoring them 18-4 and 37-8 after dropping the first two games of the season series. Rookie pitcher Shane Bieber will get the start Wednesday and he's been solid all year going 6-2 with a 4.24 ERA. The Indians bats will give Stephenson a tough time and Bieber will get tons of run support in what looks to be another blowout. Take the Indians to continue their winning ways.

MLB | Red Sox vs Phillies
Play on: Phillies +122 at YouWager

My free play is on the Phil Phillies at 7:05 ET. The Boston Red Sox won again last night, as a pinch-hit, go-ahead homer in the eighth inning led to a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. It was Boston's fifth straight win and 11th in 12 outings to open August. The Red Sox are currently on pace to win 115 games and sit 10 games of the Yankees in the AL East. Meanwhile, the Phillies have mustered just nine runs en route to losing four of their last five games, dropping them two games behind National League East-leading Atlanta. Philadelphia currently owns the second NL's wild card spot and the Phillies sit just one game behind Milwaukee. However, the wild card field is crowded, as the Cards are just one game back of the Phillies, with the Rockies 1 1/2 games back and the Dodgers 2 1/2 games back.

Nathan Eovaldi (5-4, 3.74 ERA) began the 2018 season with the Rays but was traded to the Red Sox before the July 31 deadline. He began his Boston career with consecutive scoreless starts but allowed eight runs (just four earned) in just 2 2/3 innings in Friday's 19-12 win against Baltimore (Eovaldi had a no decisions). Eovaldi takes the mound with a 3-4 mark with a 3.51 ERA in nine career starts versus Philadelphia. Vince Velasquez (8-9, 3.98 ERA) comes off 6-0 loss at Arizona in his last outing (four runs in four innings). The Phillies are an unimpressive 9-13 in Velasquez's starts in 2018. He has faced the Red Sox just once in his four-year big-league career, as a member of the Houston Astros back in 2015. In that contest, he gave up three runs and struck out seven batters in six innings in an 8-3 win.

The Philadelphia offense has struggled in the last week, as the team has scored just 16 runs in its last seven games (2.3 runs per game), going 2-5 in that stretch. However, while Boston's easily owns MLB's best record and the Red Sox lead the majors in runs scored (among a bevy of other offensive categories), they have scored just five runs in taking two of three from the Phillies in 2018. I'm not sold even a little on Eovaldi plus will note that previous to Velasquez's most recent start, he had allowed only five ERs over 32 1/3 innings of his prior six starts (1.39 ERA). Boston can't win them all. Take the Phillies.

NFLX | Jets vs Redskins
Play on: Redskins -1½ -112 at GTBets

Play -Washington Redskins (Game 404).

Edges - Redskins: 8-1 SUATS first preseason home games; and 8-2 SUATS preseason vs AFC East … Jets: 0-3 SUATS preseason in this series; and 1-6 SUATS preseason first preseason away. With the Redskins off a loss and the Jets off a win, we recommend a 1* play on Washington. Thank you and good luck as always.

1* Free Pick on Brewers/Cubs UNDER 10.5

The books have set the total way too high here for Wednesday's early NL Central action between the Cubs and Brewers. These two teams went UNDER the total in the series opener on Tuesday and have now gone UDNER the mark in 10 of 12 meetings this season.

I just don't see how these two teams are going to combine for 11 runs with the two starters that will be taking the mound. Milwaukee is sending out Junior Guerra and the Cubs will counter with Kyle Hendricks. Both have outstanding track records against the other side. Guerra has a 1.59 ERA and 1.200 WHIP in 5 career starts against Chicago, while Hendricks owns a 2.80 ERA and 1.064 WHIP in 17 starts against Milwaukee.

UNDER is 15-4 in the Brewers last 19 road games against a team that's won more than 60% of their home games. UNDER is also 7-1 in the Cubs last 8 vs a right-handed starter, 7-2 in their last 9 off a loss and 22-4-1 in Hendrick's last 27 starts at home against a team with a winning record. Take the UNDER!

Play on: OVER 8 -115

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #917 Wednesday Free Pick OVER the total in Minnesota Twins vs Pittsburgh Pirates @ 1:10 ET - Yesterday's game stayed under the total but look for today's match-up to play out much differently. The total has dropped from an 8.5 to an 8 and that has opened up even more value in a situation where there is some "hidden" factors. They're not truly hidden it is just that many won't look deep enough to see them. First off, though this is an interleague match-up, the Pirates Chris Archer just came to Pittsburgh from many years with Tampa Bay. As a result of coming over from an American League club, the fact is that the Twins have plenty of experience against Archer. In fact, this will be the 3rd time already this season that they've seen him. Also, he enters this start "scuffling" a bit in recent outings. Archer has a 5.28 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP in his last 3 starts. As for Jose Berrios, of course the markets are enamored with him but his current form also doesn't dictate the drop on this total from an 8.5 to an 8 in most books. Berrios has a 5.17 ERA and 1.91 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Too many walks has been an issue for both of these hurlers lately and, in an afternoon game with warm temperatures in Minneapolis, look for both lineups to take advantage. Free Pick OVER the total in Minnesota

MLB | White Sox vs Tigers
Play on: White Sox -110 at MyBookie

White Sox

The Chicago White Sox will attempt to build off a rare win over the Detroit Tigers when the American League Central rivals play the rubber game of a three-game series in the Motor City on Wednesday. Jose Abreu drove in two runs and four pitchers combined to scatter nine hits as the White Sox picked up a 6-3 victory Tuesday.

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH Carlos Rodon (3-3, 2.61 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Jordan Zimmermann (5-4, 3.98)

Rodon spun eight scoreless innings against Cleveland his last time out to improve to 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA over his last six starts. Opponents managed just 22 hits in 42 2/3 innings in that span and they're hitting .187 overall against the North Carolina State product.

Zimmermann struggled at the end of July but has bounced back to post a 1.42 ERA in two August starts. He let up two unearned runs in 6 1/3 frames against Minnesota on Friday and did not allow a home run for the first time since July 1. Abreu is 8-for-20 with a home run against the 32-year-old Zimmerrmann, who has a 5.70 ERA in 10 career starts versus Chicago.

White Sox are 4-1 in Rodons last 5 starts. Tigers are 4-11 in Zimmermanns last 15 home starts.

Play on: UNDER 8½ +102

Take Under the Total in the game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs listing both starting pitchers Junior Guerra and Kyle Hendricks. Milwaukee (68-54) won the opening game of this series yesterday afternoon by a 7-0 score. The Brewers have played 5 of their last 7 second games to a new series Under the Total. Milwaukee has also played 15 of their last 19 road games Under the Total against teams with a winning percentage over 60% at home. Chicago (68-50) has played 8 of their last 10 games Under the Total after allowing at least five runs in their last game. The Cubs have also played 6 of their last 7 home games Under the Total against teams with a winning record on the road. Take the Under while listing both starting pitchers. Best of luck — Frank.

10* FREE MLB PICK (Under 9)

I'll gladly take my chances here with the White Sox and Tigers going UNDER the mark of 9 set by the books. We have a really good pitching matchup in this one. Chicago is sending out Carlos Rodon, who has been lights out in his 11 starts since joining the rotation in June. Rodon has a 2.61 ERA and 1.051 WHIP and is trending even better with a sensational 0.83 ERA and 0.923 WHIP over his last 3 starts. Detroit will counter with veteran Jordan Zimmermann, who is coming off a strong start at home against the Twins, where he didn't give up an earned run in 6 innings of work. Zimmermann is 3-1 with a 3.10 ERA and 1.058 WHIP in 7 home starts this season. UNDER is 39-16 in the Tigers last 55 following a loss and 22-10 in their last 32 vs a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. UNDER is also 4-1-1 in Zimmermann's last 6 starts and 5-1 in Rodon's last 6 starts. Take the UNDER!

The first two games of this series, we're seeing just how good the Atlanta Braves really are, and just how bad the Miami Marlins really are. After sweeping a doubleheader on Monday, the Braves got it done in blowout fashion last night.

Atlanta heads into tonight's game in first place in the National League East with a record of 67-51, leading fifth place Miami by 21 games. The Braves come into the contest with a two-game lead over the Phillies in the NL East.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who is pitching for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by betting the game over again in the event that takes place.

That's because the Braves are peaking at the right time, having won eight of 11 behind a batting average that is nearing .300, a respectable staff ERA of 3.48 and by outscoring opponents by 25 runs.

Atlanta has a collective .262 batting average on the year, led by Nick Markakis' .324 mark. And I think that offense will continue to oblierate a Marlins team that comes into the game as losers of its last four games.

In losing nine of it last 11, Miami's putrid offense is hitting just .212 in that span, while its pitching staff has an ERA of 5.11. The Marlins have been outscored by 34 runs in their last 11 games

Look for Atlanta's offense to be paced by Freddie Freeman, who is hitting .319 with 75 runs and 75 RBIs this season. Also, Ronald Acuna has eight home runs and 15 RBIs while slugging 1.050 over his past 10 games for Atlanta.

Take the Braves on the Run Line.

Anyone who else paying attention to the abysmal bullpens from D.C. and L.A.?? The Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers better get their acts together.

After seeing the debacle in Wrigley Field on Sunday night, I knew the Nationals would need a couple of days to get over that loss to the Chicago Cubs. Up 1-0, the Nats tacked on two and take a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Chicago loads the bases and get a two-out, two-strike, pinch-hit, walk-off grand slam.

So I gave you the St. Louis Cardinals as my 1000♦ play on Monday. No way did I think they'd win the way they did. Nationals blow a late lead, only to tie it in the top of the ninth and then see the Redbirds get a walk-off solo shot to win the game 7-6.

Last night, the Cardinals rolled again, and I hit my free play.

Washington is struggling. Sort of. And I'm playing the Cardinals again.

Washington is playing well, it's the bullpen that can't close the deal. Any given time the Nats could win, so tonight I once again relegate the Cardinals to being a free play.

St. Louis is riding a seven-game win streak, and I don't see the Nationals bouncing back after the last three nights.

The Cardinals are in must-win mode, sitting 1 game back in the wild-card race, and have won 10 of their last 12 games. During that span, the Redbirds are sporting a batting average higher than .300 and have outscored their opponents by 31 runs.

St. Louis has been prolific with the long ball, with 153 home runs this season - 9th best in the bigs - led by Matt Carpenter with 33. Jose Martinez leads the Cardinals with a .305 batting average, while Marcell Ozuna is second with a .273 average. Paul DeJong has four home runs and nine RBIs while slugging .650 over his past 10 games for St. Louis.

And in the team's last 10 games, the pitching staff hasn't been to shabby, either, with a stingy 2.53 ERA. The team's collective 3.78 ERA this season ranks seventh in the league, while the staff ranks No. 1 in limiting opponents to just 106 home runs.

All around bad spot for Washington, which will still be dejected, have lost six of seven on the road.

Side with the Cardinals, who are on a 25-8 run when hosting the Nats.

1* CARDINALS (action)

My free winner for Wednesday is the Oakland A's over the Seattle Mariners.

One day after Jed Lowrie hit his 100th career homer and the Oakland Athletics beat Seattle 3-2 to move within one game of the slumping Houston Astros for the American League West lead, I'm headed back to Oaktown for a matinee and will take the home team.

Seattle, which was once knocking on Houston's door, has slipped to third place in the West, and has a staff ERA of 4.70 over its last 10 games. That doesn't bode well against an Athletics team that has won four straight and eight of 10, and has outscored foes by 16 runs over that 10-game span.

Look for the offense to be led by Jed Lowrie, who is batting .273 for the A's this season, while his .472 slugging percentage is 28th in the American League. Also, Jonathan Lucroy has seven hits over his past 10 games for Oakland.

The A's are also getting it done on the mound during that 10-game run, with a 2.42 ERA.

I won't list pitchers because it doesn't matter - they're all doing good.

Take Oakland

Wednesday comp play is the Yankees on the Run Line over the Rays.

Last night the Yankees were 4-1 winners in the first of three. it marked the 11th time in 13 series meetings this year between the teams that the host has come out victorious. 11-2 equates to 84%, so why not put that home dominance to the test tonight?

The Yankees have won 7 of their last 9 games since getting swept by the Red Sox, and all 7 of the wins have come by 2 runs or more.

The Rays are just 6-22 their last 28 games played in the Bronx, so chances they can come up with the win tonight do not appear all that great.

It will be Jake Faria and Luis Cessa starting this contest, and I surely do not expect either to be around deep into the night, but I am hopeful that Cessa can duplicate his last start in the bigs back on July 25th when he kept the Rays bats in check with just 2 runs allowed in his 5-plus innings of work.

Faria owns a 7.24 road ERA this season, and the Yankees will only add to that mark with some runs early this Wednesday night.

Back New York on the Run Line.

2* N.Y. YANKEES -1 1/2 RUNS

Your Wednesday freebie is the Under in the Pirates-Twins finale.

Last night only 7 combined runs between the clubs as they held Under the posted price, and this afternoon I expect Chris Archer and Jose Berrios to mow the batters down in a game that also holds Under the total.

The Pirates have played 3 straight, and 6 of their last 9 games Under the total, while the Twins come into this matinee game having held Under the total 4 straight and 6 of their last 7 games.

Chris Archer will be facing Minnesota for the third time this season. He does sport a 2.45 ERA in his previous pair of starts against the Twins while with his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays. I like him to be in that ballpark again today, as he keeps the Twins bats silent.

Jose Berrios has done his best work at Target Field, as he enters today's start with an 8-2 home mark, and a 2.95 home ERA for the season.

This one moves fast, and stays Under as Archer and Berrios dominate.

4* PITTSBURGH-MINNESOTA UNDER
