Do-or-die on a Friday night in Cleveland, with the defending Eastern Conference champs and the greatest basketball player in the land. Yeah, I'm taking a shot with a small piece on the Cavaliers.

Cleveland will face its second elimination game of the postseason on tonight at Quicken Loans Arena, and I think it will perform at its best. With Boston nursing a 1-6 record on the road this postseason, the Celtics are going to try to do too much tonight.

This whole conversation about LeBron James being tired is a laugher. Not saying he is not, but this is a guy who has done this for how many years now? With how many teams? His resiliency - when you question it - is better than anyone else's in the league. He will not let his Cavs lose this series in Cleveland.

The Cavaliers roll past Boston to force a Game 7.

4* CAVALIERS

Your Friday freebie is the Under in the Nationals-Marlins weekend opener with Max Scherzer and Jose Urena on the hill.

Urena was to be the Miami "ace" this season, but his results have been spotty at best as evidenced by his 0-7 record, and the team's 0-10 mark when he starts. Still, this kid has talent, and his does have the capability of matching pitches for a while with Mighty Max as this game turns into a pitcher's duel.

Urena's ERA at home stands at under 4, and more importantly, 5 of his 7 home starts this year have ended up landing Under the total.

Scherzer has not allowed more than 2 runs in any of his starts this season, and he has fanned double-digits in 4 straight and 7 of his 10 assignments this year.

First series meeting between these division-rivals, and the Under is 2-0-2 the past 4 meetings, while the Nats come in having played Under in their last pair, while the Marlins have held Under in their last 3, and 7 of their past 10 overall.

Friday Under between the Nationals and Marlins.

1* WASHINGTON-MIAMI UNDER

My comp play for Friday night is the Yankees back home on the Run Line over the Angels.

New York plays this one off their first series loss in quite some time. as the Yanks had won 8 straight series before getting outslugged in Texas on Wednesday, 12-10.

Back in the Bronx with the ace Luis Severino on the hill, I like them to open with a big 2 runs or better win over the Angels.

Severino is 7-1 for the season, with the Yankees having won 9 of his 10 starts, and his ERA is 2.35. Included is a late April win over the Angels and Andrew Heaney, although neither hurler earned a decision that night. Heaney is just 2-3 for the season, and the Halos are just 4-10 the past 14 times he has made the start.

New York swept that April 3-game set in Anaheim, and they have also won 30 of the last 40 series meetings in the Bronx.

Side with the Yankees to take this one by at least a pair of runs.

3* N.Y. YANKEES -1 1/2 RUNS

Free Pick on Cubs -

I'm recommending laying the big juice here and backing the Cubs at home against the Giants on Friday. Chicago hasn't quite taken off like a lot of people expected, but there's no panic with this team. They are actually on a better pace than the team that won 92-games and the division title last year.

After scoring just 1 run in their quick 2-game series with the Indians, I look for the Cubs' offense to explode here against Derek Holland and the Giants. Chicago is built for the summer months with all of their power hitters and the ball should be flying out today with the wind blowing out to left and temps close to 90. Holland has allowed 6 homers in just 5 road starts, where he's 1-3 with a 4.33 ERA and 1.370 WHIP.

Cubs counter with Kyle Hendricks, who isn't having his best season, yet still comes in with a respectable 3.40 ERA and 1.078 WHIP in 9 starts. He's been slightly better at home, where he's got a 2.60 ERA and 0.865 WHIP in 5 outings. I just don't see the Giants doing much here against Hendricks and certainly not enough to pull off the upset. Take Chicago!

MLB | Diamondbacks vs A's
Play on: Diamondbacks +129 at pinnacle

Jack’s Free Pick Friday: Arizona Diamondbacks +129

It’s safe to say the Arizona Diamondbacks will be highly motivated for a victory tonight. They have lost seven straight coming in and are desperate for a victory. They had yesterday off to rest and recover, while the A’s played yesterday against the Mariners.

Patrick Corbin is the perfect guy to get the Diamondbacks back in the win column. Corbin has gone 4-1 with a 2.60 ERA and 0.914 WHIP in 10 starts this season with 81 K’s in 62 1/3 innings. He has been the Diamondbacks’ best starter this year.

Sean Manaea is having a solid season for the A’s. However, Manaea has come back down to reality of late, going 1-1 with a 5.94 ERA and 1.440 WHIP in his last three starts.

Arizona is 10-4 (+8.5 units) as an underdog of +100 to +150 this season. The Diamondbacks are 4-1 in their last five games following an off day. The A’s are 5-17 in their last 22 interleague home games. Oakland is 1-5 in Manaea’s last six interleague starts. Bet the Diamondbacks Friday.

DEREK HOLLAND (L) vs. KYLE HENDRICKS (R)

SF is struggling to score runs on the road, averaging just 3.2 rpg. Their least closet thing to a clutch offense in the NL. Meanwhile, the Cubs have done their best work at southpaw starters like Holland this season, scoring an average of 6.6 rpg. SF also owns a struggling bullpen that has garnered a ugly 5.56 road ERA making them fade material this afternoon on this beatable runline number.

Below I have listed some moneyline trends that equate to runline viability .

SAN FRANCISCO is 5-22 against the money line in road games vs. a team with a very good bullpen whose WHIP is 1.250 or better over the last 2 seasons with the average margin of defeat coming by 3 rpg.

SAN FRANCISCO is 9-37 against the money line as a road underdog of +150 or more over the last few seasons with the average loss coming by more than 2.1 rpg.

The Chicago Cubs are 23-0 SU as a 140+ home favorite vs a lefty after facing three straight righties and it is not the second game of a double-header with the average margin of victory beating the 1.5 runline outlay.

Play on the Chicago Cubs -1.5 runline

MLB | Braves vs Red Sox
Play on: Braves +172 at 5Dimes

Dave’s Friday Free Play:

1* on Atlanta Braves +172

The Key: The Atlanta Braves are worth a shot today as massive road underdogs to the Boston Red Sox. The Braves will be the fresher team after having Thursday off while the Red Sox concluded a 3-game series with the Rays. Julio Teheran is the rare starter that is better on the road than at home, and that has been the case for a few years now, so it’s no fluke. Teheran is 3-1 with a 2.89 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 5 road starts this year. Eduardo Ridriquez sports a 4.12 ERA in 9 starts this season and a 4.44 ERA in 5 home starts. Teheran gave up just one earned run in 7 innings in his last start against the Red Sox. The Braves are 7-0 in their last 7 road games vs. a left-handed starter. Atlanta is 8-1 in Teheran’s last 9 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Take Atlanta.

Play - Texas Rangers w/Minor (Game 972).

Edges - Rangers: Minor 3.72 ERA and 1.14 WHIP home as opposed to 8.38 ERA and 1.60 WHIP away this season… Royals: 1-12 last 13 games in this series… With Minor in strong KW form with 18 Ks and 2 BBs in his last three starts, we recommend a 1* play on Texas. Thank you and good luck as always.

Take the Chicago Cubs with the money-line versus the San Francisco Giants listing both starting pitchers Kyle Hendricks and Derek Holland. Chicago (25-21) looks to bounce-back from a 1-0 loss to the Indians on Wednesday. The Cubs have won 45 of their last 66 after a loss — and they have also won 42 of their last 62 games after an off day. San Francisco (24-26) comes off a 4-1 loss in Houston on Wednesday. The Giants have then lost 8 of their last 10 games after a loss. San Fran has also lost 10 of their last 13 games against teams with a winning record. Take the Cubs with the money-line while listing both starting pitchers. Best of luck — Frank.

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NBA Game #509 Friday Free Pick OVER the total in Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics @ 8:35 ET - With all the unders both in these finals (Eastern Conference) and in the Western Conference finals it makes it tough to release a premium pick on an over with the way things have gone. However, I truly do like the over in this Game 6 match-up and that is why you're reading about it right here! The Celtics, since late March, are 11-2 to the over when they are off of a game that was decided by a double digit margin. Whether Boston lost by 10 or more or won by 10 or more, the result in the next game has almost always been an over and this is a stretch of nearly 2 months worth of games! Cleveland is 24-16 to the over when playing with revenge this season and the Cavaliers are also on a long-term run of 32-21 to the over when they are off of a loss by a double digit margin. Keep in mind, the Cavs had been shooting very well (6 out of 7 strong games), prior to the poor results from the field in Game 5. The Celtics had scored 100 points or more in 8 of their last 10 games prior to being held to just 96 on Wednesday and I look for triple digits from both teams in this one as the Cavaliers have averaged 113 points per game their last 5 home games. Free Pick OVER the total in Cleveland

MLB | Blue Jays vs Phillies
Play on: Blue Jays +106 at pinnacle

#MLB FREE PICK FROM MIKE LUNDIN

The Philadelphia Phillies are 18-7 home at Citizens Bank Park on the season, but the Toronto Blue Jays own a respectable 11-10 road record and I think the value is on the visitors in this matchup.

Sam Gaviglio (1-0, 0.93 ERA) will take the ball for Toronto for his fourth appearance (second start) of the season. He struck out six through 5 1/3 shutout innings against Oakland his last time out and should be pumped up here, looking to make his case for a long-term spot in the rotation.

Zach Eflin (1-0, 1.56 ERA) will take the ball for Philadelphia for his fourth start of the year. The 24 year old was tagged with four runs (two earned) in 4 2/3 innings against St. Louis his last time out and has issued a total of six walks through his last two starts. He has given up 10 hits and four(!) homers through 13 at bats against the current Toronto roster. The Blue Jays have one of the top offenses across the major leagues, averaging 4.7 runs per game and the team's 65 homers through 50 games are the fourth most in baseball.

Blue Jays are 13-3 in the last 16 meetings and 10-1 in the last 11 meetings in Philadelphia.

Free pick on Toronto Blue Jays.
