It has been a while since either team shot at the rim for real, as Cleveland ended their semifinal series on Monday against the Raptors, while Boston ended their series versus the Sixers on Wednesday night on their home court. I do not expect that layoff to have any bearing on the points we will see scored in today's contest. I expect this first game to land Over the total at TD Garden.

The Cavaliers started this postseason run playing Unders versus Indiana in the first 5 games played, but that was when LeBron James was a one-man-show. With LeBron getting his teammates INVOLVED, the Cavs have now played Overs in 5 of their last 6 games this postseason.

The Celtics come in having eclipsed the posted price in 4 of their last 6 playoff games, and a closer look shows each of their last 4 games this postseason played on their home court have all landed Over the total, as have 6 of their 7 overall home playoff games this year.

The last regular season series meeting - in February when Cleveland remade their roster - also went Over the total (in Boston), as the Celtics are now 10-1 Over the total dating back to the regular season when playing on their home parquet floor.

We may start slowly today with both teams having been idle a few days, but I totally expect this game to land Over when the final horn sounds.

Cavs-Celts Over in Game One.

5* CLEVELAND-BOSTON OVER

Your Sunday freebie is the Capitals and the Lightning to hold Under the total.

Game One on Friday saw the Caps light the lightning up, as Washington scored 2 in the first, and 2 more in the second before coasting to the 4-2 win and a PUSH on the total of 6.

We stand right around that price once again here on Sunday, and all you need to know is that Andrei Vasilevskiy and his defense had better come up with a more "stingy" effort in this one, or they face the prospect of flying up to D.C. down 0-2 which in my mind would be one foot firmly in the grave.

Tampa is 4-2-2 Under the total their last 8 playoff games, while Washington is 4-2-1 Under the total in their last 7 postseason affairs.

Now that each team has seen one another one time, look for things offensively to be a little harder to come by.

Holtby and Vasilevskiy to step up big in Game 2, as the Capitals and Lightning hold Under the total.

4* WASHINGTON-TAMPA BAY UNDER

Free Pick on Cavs/Celtics OVER

I'm recommending a play on the OVER in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. I think the perception here is that Boston's only chance of even making this a series is to try and slow the game way down and grind out a win. There's no question that defense will be a priority, but I don't think the Celtics are going to change the way they attack offensively.

Boston has been lights out at home offensively in the playoffs. Outside of a 92-point outing in Game 5 against Milwaukee in the 1st round, the Celtics have scored at least 108 points over their other 6 playoff games. I also think the Cavs are far from a great defensive team and will struggle to contain the balanced attack of the Celtics. On the flip side, Cleveland seemed to figure something out offensively against Toronto and should be able to keep it going against Boston.

OVER is 14-2 in the Celtics last 16 home playoff games (last 2 seasons) and a perfect 5-0 in their last 5 at home against a team with a winning road record. Take the OVER!

Play - Atlanta Braves w/Newcomb (Game 951).

Edges - Braves: Newcomb 4-1 with 1.78 ERA and 1.02 WHIP away this season … Marlins: Urena 0-8 this season; and 0-3 home career team starts in this series… With the Braves 4-0 away in Game Three of a series this season, we recommend a 1* play on Atlanta. Thank you and good luck as always.

As seen below road teams like Washington that won game 1 in round 3 on the road are just 19-35 in game 2.Tampa Bay 5-0 in game 2 off a game 1 loss. Washington 8-15 in game 2 when leading a series and 2-5 on Sundays. The road team has lost 20 of 28 in this series. The Lightning are 8-1 on Sundays, 11-3 with home loss revenge, 14-5 off a loss by 2 or more, 5-0 after scoring 2 or less and 3-0 when trailing a series. Tampa is heavily favored here and they should even this series up. On Sunday we have the 100% Game 1 round 3 NBA Power system top play and ESPN Sunday night baseball Total Of the Month. . Braves vs. Marlins
10* FREE MLB PICK (Under 8)

I'll take my chances here with the Braves and Marlins going UNDER the total of 8 set by the books on Sunday. I know these two teams just combined for 15 runs in Atlanta's 10-5 win on Saturday, but it wasn't the best of starting pitching matchups. That's not the case in the series finale. The Braves will send out one of the more underrated starters in the big leagues in Sean Newcomb, who has posted a 2.88 ERA and 1.205 WHIP in 7 starts. Newcomb doesn't fold on the road. In fact, he gets better. He's 3-0 with a 1.78 ERA and 1.022 WHIP in 5 road outings. Miami will counter with Jose Urena, who got off to a rough start and owns a 0-5 record in 8 starts. He's simply been unfortunate of late, as he's got a 2.33 ERA and 1.138 WHIP in his last 3 starts. His last two starts at home have both ended with him allowing just 1 earned run over 7 innings. It should be hard for both teams to get going offensively in this one. Give me the UNDER 8!

ART ARONSON

This is a 1* Free Play on the Boston Celtics.

The Cavs struggled to get by the Pacers in seven games, but they’d steamroll the Raptors in four straight in the second round. Boston needed seven games to get past Milwaukee, but then only needed five to get by the 76ers. The Celtics have been red hot at home (both in the regular season and in the playoffs), and we think they can carry that momentum over in Game 1. Cleveland is centred completely around LBJ, so it’ll be all hands on deck from the home side to slow down the Cavs’ superstar. Note though that the Cavs are 0-3 ATS this year already when playing with three or more days rest, while the Celtics are 4-1 ATS when playing with three or more days of rest. Consider BOSTON in Game 1.

OVER 6

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #55 Sunday Free Pick OVER the total in Tampa Bay Lightning vs Washington Capitals @ 8:05 ET - With their upset win in Game 1 of this series on Friday, the Capitals have now scored 4 goals or more in 7 of their last 10 games. The Lightning, before scoring just 2 in the Game 1 defeat, had scored 3 goals or more in 6 of their 7 prior games. The over is 20-12 when the Caps are off of a win by a margin of 2 goals or more. Also, Washington is 32-20 to the over when playing against a team with a winning record this season. When trailing in a playoff series, the Lightning are a long-term 19-6 to the over. The Bolts are also 8-4 to the over this season when playing with home loss revenge. Tampa Bay will come out flying here after their slow start in Game 1 but don't be surprised if this turns into a true "barnburner" with plenty of end to end action as the Capitals are playing with a lot of confidence right now. Free Pick OVER the total in Tampa Bay

DMack's Free Play for Sunday, May 13, 2018 is on the NY Yankees Run-line (Severino Listed)

Severino is 3-0 with a 1.54 ERA over his L5 starts and has been the Bronx Bomber ace for almost two years. He's one of the few that has thrived at Yankee Stadium. The A's have lost four of five and while they've been scoring runs, they've been giving up a ton of runs and it's not the best strategy to try and trade with the Yanks. Oakland starter Anderson rocks a 10.00+ ERA in his last two and faces some mashers here. Run-line gets this down to manageable price and mitigates damages just in case. The Yanks are 18-3 L21 and roll here.

Sunday MLB Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Minnesota and Los Angeles at 4:05 pm et on Sunday.

The 'over' has gone 4-1 in Angels phenom Shohei Ohtani's five starts so far this season, largely due to the fact that the Halos' bats have really showed up when their highly-touted rookie has been on the mound. In this case, however, I'm willing to take a flyer on Twins rookie Fernando Romero, not with a play on the Twins, but on the 'under' instead. Romero hasn't allowed an earned run in his first two big league starts, showing excellent efficiency as well, needing fewer than 100 pitches to toss 5 2/3 and 6 innings in those two outings. Those relatively low pitch counts are impressive when you consider he struck out 14 and walked six along the way. I look for him to settle in and harness his command a little better in this matchup. Note that the 'under' has cashed in three of the Angels last five games overall while the 'under' has gone 3-2-1 in the Twins last six contests. Take the under (8*).

My free play for Sunday is on the Chicago Cubs on the Run Line, over the Windy City rivals, the Chicago White Sox.

Since the start of the season we've certainly seen a side of the Chicago Cubs that is lacking the power punch we've become used to. But more recently, we're seeing the team resemble the one that won the 2016 World Series.

On the other hand, the White Sox are struggling terribly out of the gate, and continue to look like the worst team in baseball.

The Cubbies have a respectable record, and about five years ago this is the type of start Cubs fans would be happy with, while this season they have to be wondering what's going on. If the first two games of this series is any kind of indicator, Cubs fans should be encouraged. While the Cubs have piled up the runs during a five-game win streak - 50 to be exact - they're pitching is coming around too.

The Cubs have outscored the Miami Marlins and White Sox 50-15 during their win streak.

Chicago plated a total of 31 runs in its series with Miami, including a 13-4 win on Wednesday in the finale. Then the Cubs put up 11 more runs on Friday night, and eight yesterday. That's 32 runs in the last three games alone.

Leading the way has been Willson Contreras, who hit his third homer in two games and drove in three runs during yesterday's 8-4 win. He has eight extra-base hits in his past three games, including another homer last night.

Contreras is 10 for 15 with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBIs and five runs over the past three games. His average has jumped from .230 to 281.

They've been looking for balance from the lineup, and it has come around this week. The ChiSox, meanwhile, has lost seven in a row and 11 of 12. And at 9-27, the ChiSox have the worst record in the bigs. The Pale Hose have also lost 12 of 18 on the road.

Take the Cubbies, who are 13-6 at home, and play them on the run line.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who is pitching for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by betting the game over again in the event that takes place.

5* CUBS RUN LINE

JACK BRAYMAN

My free play is on the Baltimore Orioles, who will be pissed off after having their win streak snapped in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

I had them on Saturday as my 60 Dimer, and today they're the comp play, and I'm not listing pitchers in this one.

Not when we're talking about a Rays team that has struggled for the past two weeks, that after enjoying an eight-game win streak late last month. Despite winning the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader, the Rays have lost seven of 11.

It's surprising, because the Rays have been one of the better hitting teams in the league, even on the road.

Tampa Bay has a 4.98 ERA on the road - spanning 19 games - and during the month of May the Rays are hitting .258. This month alone, they've scored a near league-low 34 runs. Over 12 days, that's an average of 2.8 runs per game in May.

Yes, the Orioles are cemented in last place in the American League East for awhile, but Tampa Bay - losers of five of its last seven on the road - is sinking quickly in fourth place. This series is exactly what Baltimore needed.

Manager Buck Showalter can turn things around, and there is no way he is fazed by this early-season slump.

Play Baltimore in this one, and remember, don't bother listing anybody.

Jack’s Free Pick Sunday: Houston Astros -1.5 (-140)

The Houston Astros should have no problem beating the Texas Rangers by two runs or more Sunday. That’s why instead of laying the -300 to back them on the money line, we’ll back them at the much more generous -140 price on the Run Line.

Dallas Keuchel is coming off one of his best starts of the season to improve to 2-5 with a 3.53 ERA and 1.176 WHIP in eight starts this year. He gave up just one run in 8 innings of a 16-2 beat down of the A’s. Keuchel is 8-9 with a 4.03 ERA and 1.180 WHIP in 23 career starts against the Rangers.

Matt Moore has been one of the worst starters in baseball over the past two seasons. Moore is 1-4 with a 7.94 ERA and 1.941 WHIP in seven starts this season, including 0-1 with an 11.04 ERA and 2.249 WHIP in his last three. He gave up 4 earned runs in 4 innings of a 3-9 loss to the Astros in his only start against them in 2018.

Texas is 8-23 after scoring 3 runs or less in two straight games over the last two seasons. The Astros are 36-15 in Keuchel’s last 51 home starts. Bet the Astros on the Run Line Sunday.

Orioles over Rays

Dylan Bundy (1-5, 5.31 ERA) will try and erase the thought of his last outing the worst start in MLB history surrendering seven runs (including four homers) without recording an out. As a matter of fact despite his performance Bundy has had four quality starts in five chances and with a 'red-hot' Manny Machado hitting four homers in his last four games the Orioles are gaining momentum. In a bounce-back performance Bundy gets it done. Take BALTIMORE!
