Edges - Royals: Junis 3-0 with 1.71 ERA and 0.81 WHIP away this season … Indians: Clevenger 0-5 home career team starts during May… With the Tribe bullpen currently in disarray, we recommend a 1* play on Kansas City. Thank you and good luck as always.

Mets vs. Phillies
Mets-148

The MLB Comp Play is on the NY. Mets at 7:10 eastern. The Mets are 41-17 here in Philadelphia and 7-0 of late here as a favorite. As a road favorite overall the Mets are 9-1 as a -140 or higher road favorite. They have Syndergaard going and he has won 15 of 20 as a road favorite and 2 of 3 here on Philly. He is 7-2 in game2 of a series. The Phillies counter with Z.Eflin who has been good in 2 starts since getting called up. However he is 0-2 here vs the Mets, 0-6 in game 2 of a series and 1-4 as a home dog. Look for NY. To take this one. On Saturday the lead play is a Rare 6* triple system side in the NHL Game 1 Western Conf. Semi finals. The MLB Card is led by a 23-1 Power system play. For the MLB Free Play. Make it the Mets. My 1* Free Play is on the Pittsburgh Pirates (7:05 EST).

I think the home side will build off yesterday’s 11-2 blowout victory.

The visitors hand the ball to the volatile Jeff Samardzija (1-2, 6.62 ERA) who gave up five runs off four hits and three walks over four innings in a loss to the Phillies on Monday. “The Shark” has now gone four or fewer innings while allowing five or more runs in two of his last three.

The home side counters with Chad Kuhl (4-2, 4.12) who comes in off a gem agains the Brewers on Sunday, giving up zero runs over seven innings, walking two and striking out eight in the commanding performance. Kuhl hasn’t been perfect this season, but recent form suggests that he’s in line for another big night against the anemic Giants.

The same though can’t be said of Samardzija, who clearly is struggling across the board right now.

All things considered, this line could in fact be a lot larger in my opinion. Consider a second look at the Pirates on Saturday night.

Good luck…Larry

Golden Knights vs. Jets
UNDER 6

The first thing that comes into our minds when we think about these two teams is high-powered offenses. However, each is backed by World class goaltending and we think these netminders will steal the headlines in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Marc Andre Fleury is so far 8-2 with a 1.53 GAA in the playoffs, while Connor Hellebuyck is 8-4 with a 2.25 GAA. Note that Vegas has already seen the total go UNDER in five of its last eight when playing with three days rest, while Winnipeg has seen the total go UNDER in ten of 16 in trying to revenge a home loss against an opponent. For all the reasons listed above, consider a play on the UNDER in Game 1.

SCOTT RICKENBACH

Golden Knights vs. Jets
OVER 6 +102

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #21 Saturday Free Pick OVER the total in Winnipeg Jets vs Vegas Golden Knights @ 7:05 ET - The Golden Knights closed out their series with a shutout win over San Jose but Vegas certainly had some "puck luck" on their side as the Sharks had a number of great scoring opportunities just miss finding the back of the net. Also, prior to that game the over was 4-1 in the Knights 5 prior games. The Jets enters this game having gone 4-2 to the over in their 6 prior games. Also, the 3 games between these teams this season averaged nearly 8 goals per game. The over is 15-9 this season in Vegas road games with a posted total of 6 or more goals. The over is a long-term 17-9 in Jets home games with a posted total of 6 or more goals. A lot of firepower for the Jets who led the league in scoring on home ice this season but don't discount the speed of the Golden Knights giving them plenty of open ice scoring opportunities and this should be particularly true in Game 1 as Vegas has fresh legs here after the time off. Free Pick OVER the total in Winnipeg

Saturday's comp play is to ride the Pirates over the slumping Giants.

I learned my lesson last night by back San Francisco, as the Giants got hammered, 11-2 in the weekend opener from PNC Park.

After starting their road trip with 3 wins in as many game at Sun Trust Park in Atlanta, things in the Keystone State have turned into a waking nightmare for San Francisco, as they have lost 5 in a row. As if they were not bad enough, they have been outscored 43-10 in that stretch!

Pittsburgh has now won 4 straight, and starter Chad Kuhl has gone 2-1 his last 3 starts, to improve to 4-2 for the season.

Giants hurler Jeff Samardzija has seen better days, as the Shark has lasted less than 13 inning for his last 3 starts, going 0-2 with an ERA over 9.

Not much to think about when you consider the numbers I just spelled out right above.

Pirates add to the Giants Pennsylvania nightmare.

Take Pittsburgh.

ERIC SCHROEDER

Take the Pittsburgh Pirates as my free play for Saturday, as they come in on a nice little run, after opening this weekend series with an 11-2 win over the struggling San Francisco Giants. Last night the buzz around PNC Park was about the return of outfielder Andrew McCutchen. Now that that's out of the way, and it did nothing to spark McCutchen's new team to win or play well for him, I will continue to roll with the Bucs.

They've won four in a row and are 11-5 at home this season. They're sitting just one game back of N.L. Central-leading St. Louis. In between is the Milwaukee Brewers, who is a half-game out. It is conceivable that if the Pirates can sweep over the weekend, they'll head into next week atop the division.

The Giants, meanwhile, have lost five straight after being swept in Philadelphia before getting to Steeltown. And while the travel wasn't that far from Philly to Pittsburgh, it's still the point. Frisco is still on the road, it is still losing and the momentum is flowing on the other side.

I won't list pitchers, because it won't matter with how both teams are playing. The Giants struggle on the road, hitting .240 when ordering room service. They've also scored a league fifth-worst 69 runs while traveling. The offense will be lacking in this one again.

Take Pittsburgh.

Take the Boston Red Sox as today's comp winner, as I like them with David Price over the Toronto Blue Jays and Marco Estrada. Be sure you're listing both pitchers.

Price is reportedly eager to get back to the mound after missing his last start due to a mild case of carpal tunnel syndrome. The veteran southpaw doesn't like to miss starts. And after he didn’t give up a run in his first two starts, but produced an 8.22 ERA in his last five outings, I know this is a guy who will be looking to get back on track.

Price knows this lineup well, and has had plenty of experience pitching inside Rogers Centre.

Estrada, meanwhile, is due for a letdown. He is coming off his best start of the season, after tossing six scoreless innings versus Tampa Bay. But that's abnormal for him this season. I mean, he didn't allow a home run for just the second time this season. The long ball has been his enemy. Price allowed five runs over five innings in a start against Boston earlier this season, and could get hit hard in a hitter's park.

Take the Sox.

5* RED SOX (Listing Price over Estrada)

My free play is on the Kansas City Royals as a huge underdog against the Cleveland Indians. And in this one, be sure you're listing both scheduled starting pitchers: Jakob Junis over Mike Clevinger.

I'm not sure why the oddsmakers are underestimating this kid, as the Royals' right-hander was outstanding last Sunday against Detroit, lasting seven-plus innings and scattering eight hits and allowing just two runs while matching a career-high with eight strikeouts.

His command and maturity on the hill are impressive, and off that performance, he will be in charge of his arsenal, and will neutralize the Indians long enough to allow his teammates to get to Clevinger.

Cleveland's crafty northpaw flirted with a no-hitter in his last outing, but he took a no-decision despite limiting the Yankees to just two runs on one hit over 7 1/3 innings. He is going to come out trying to hard to duplicate, and will leave one too many hanging.

Take the Royals, and look for Junis to shine.

1* ROYALS (Junis over Clevenger)

Mariners vs. Tigers
Mariners-120

Detroit has lost five of its last seven games and the injuries keep piling up for the wounded Tigers, most notably first baseman Miguel Cabrera and center fielder Leonys Martin who are on the 10-day disabled list with hamstring injuries. The Seattle Mariners own a respectable 21-15 record on the season after a 9-3 win at Toronto Thursday night, and I think they'll win a low-scoring contest here in the first game of a doubleheader.

Marco Gonzales (3-2, 5.19 ERA) will take the ball for Seattle. He was tagged with four runs in six innings against the Halos his last time out but had allowed just a total of two runs in his previous two outings. The 26 year old southpaw has a great 38/6 K/BB ratio through 34 2/3 innings of work on the season and will face Detroit for the first time in his career.

The Tigers turn to Matthew Boyd (1-3, 3.00 ERA) who lost his last outing Sunday, giving up four runs and six hits in seven innings against Kansas City.

The Mariners are 6-0 in the last six meetings.

Free pick on Seattle Mariners.

Rockies over Brewers

Milwaukee's starter Chase Anderson's (3-3, 3.97 ERA) has had a rough May after a decent start to the year. Since May 1 his ERA is 7.59 ERA and is struggling to find his location. The Rockies who most believe have the strongest home field advantage are a meager 6-10 at home while the Brewers are an outstanding 13-7 on the road. Things will revert to the norm tonight as the Rockies get the win. Take COLORADO!
