What a game!

Just thought I'd let you all know that I took PIT +2.5 pretty heavily. Not so that you can play it, more so that you can fade it and maybe give those who took KC already a little extra confidence in your picks. Cash, ever since you made me and Timmy take off the gloves, it's been all down hill. I blame you. You bastard.

Can't wait to see what the total for ATL/GB will be... I predict 57.5 and that's probably not high enough. That'll be a great game for sure...

1) I never made you and Timmy do shit

2) go fuck yourself

3) I don't post much about my family because a) I don't post much and b) I don't want any of you scumbags stalking me.

But in all seriousness my daughter got hurt again about 10 days ago and that has taken a toll on my family. For those that don't know me, my daughter was one of the top cheer leading prospects in the country. She was recruited by about every school out there and got a full ride to Davenport University which has been the division 2 national champions 6 out of the last 7 years.

Without going crazy into the past, this kid has been in the hospital every January the last 3 years and still managed to come back and whoop ass. 2014 she had a kidney infection and was out for 4 weeks. 2015 she dislocated her elbow and missed essentially the whole season.

Fast forward to this year 2016-17, over xmas break she tore her ACL, strained her MCL and LCL and has bone bruising and her season was over before it even got started.

So, the last week and a half I have been running the site and answering emails, going to the doctor, going to get MRI's, going to the radiologist, going to specialists, etc.

I'm not really sharing this for any other reason other than to let you all know that all of this stuff is very, very small in the grand scheme of things. I'm one of the biggest shit talkers there is but when something like this happens it makes you realizes how insignificant shit like this is.

If you have kids you should make sure they know you love them every night before they go to bed and you should also make sure that they come first in your life. I had a shitty childhood and I wanted to make sure my kids know that no matter what I love them and they are more important to me than anything or anyone else.

I just tried fucking myself, Cash... 'wasn't all it's cracked up to be. Thanks for the idea though.

In all seriousness... sorry to hear about your daughter. The timing of your message is ironic. I told my son, (step-son I suppose you could/should say other than the fact I consider myself the father of the four kids I wedded into because their bio-Dad is a POS), this afternoon that 'nothing you could do would make me love you less' after he made a poor decision himself and expected the wrath of the Wiz... his reaction was as unexpected as the message I sent in the moment. Point being... I feel ya. Nothing happens without purpose.... hopefully she finds that (purpose) in the midst of all these obstacles.

I've tried as well, didn't work out for me either. Shame too, I think I'd be really good at it.

Anyway, she is gonna have to find another purpose like you say because I think her career is over. The recovery from this is 6-9 months and she can't even have the surgery for about 4 weeks because she needs to do rehab before the surgery to get the best results out of the procedure. Even if that timeline is firm that puts us somewhere into late September, early October which may be too late for what Davenport expects.

These girls are no joke and even though they are being real nice right now I don't think they will honor that scholarship or even hold her a spot with her being out of practice for that long. Also, the lifespan of a college cheer leader is only 2 seasons for most girls, sometimes 3 but no one on their team has ever competed for all 4 years.

Anyway, appreciate all the kind words. End of the day she will be fine no matter what physically but I'm not sure she is gonna be able to see her life take the path she wanted and that's a bummer.

Off to see another ortho to get her knee drained. If I'm not back later it's because her screaming blew my ear drum out and I needed to go to the doctor myself.

Speedy recovery! And if they get rid of her spot she could always go try out for a rival of Davenport and use as motivation to kick their ass! I assume they can award scholarships at a later time like football players?

Not real sure about all that, NCAA rules are like trying to do your own taxes. At this point I'm really pushing for her to forget all that, stay home and go to school at Eastern Michigan which is 8 minutes from our house.

Her mom and her though aren't really trying to hear that at that moment. But to me, 2 season ending injuries in 2 consecutive years means cheer leading might not be your destiny.

Understandable. I'm sure it breaks your heart to watch it but it would be a hell of a story of perseverance and character if she could pull it off.
